NY Times Calls on Readers to Kill God

During Passion Week (just this past week), The NY Times “thought Thursday was the perfect day to publish a rancorous anti-God rant written by an angry former believer. The Times is now openly proselytizing for atheism, and while that’s certainly its prerogative, it also must be asked: why now, in the lead-in to two of the holiest of times for both Jews and Christians? And also, cui bono — who benefits?”

The OP editor, “Shalom Auslander, the author of a book called Foreskin’s Lament: A Memoir,“ is a bitter recount of Auslander’s Orthodox Jewish upbringing and reportedly has given all that up. In this article, he basically says the very same thing adding, “In this time of war and violence, of oppression and suffering, I propose we pass over something else: God.” How dark we see our world becoming!

in further detail, the OP goes on to say that “God was excessive in killing the firstborn of the Egyptians…..because he included firstborn cows, saying that when God doled out punishment to the Egyptians, He used a “roller instead of a paint brush.”

So “cui bono — who benefits?” furthering the agenda of the Left by eliminating traditional values of God, Judaism and of course, at the heart, Christianity, all of which are central to the Times’ (and that of the Leftists) larger agenda, of creating a socialist/communist/atheistic state where reality is not our choice. Reality is what the state says it is. (Remember what sleepy Joe said during his campaign for president? I recall something to the effect that “Voters don’t know what they want, so I will decide for them…”. Not a direct quote, but something I remember Joe saying during his campaign. Correct me if I’m wrong.)

The left would love to eliminate God or human perception as it relates to values and viewpoints! It’s by no accident that the world as we know it is rapidly becoming atheistic. For example, look at how transgenderism is being pushed down our throats, CRT is alive and well, worming it’s way into the minds of our children, just as the left continues to push gender training to children as young as 3 in what they call “gender therapy.” Jan Markell had a guest on her show recently who talked about the leftists and their transgender training aimed at children this young and older. It’s mind boggling how few people claim this “status” which a few years back was a VERY ALOW percentage of the population. Now, the leftists are indoctrinating your children to increase the numbers of those whose gender is what they say it is. God only made male and female. Our Creator makes no mistakes! This is all the work of mankind, who in their depraved minds, and aided by the king of liars, put themselves on a pedestal claiming to know what only God can and acting as little gods having the ability to tell people that they were born into the wrong sex.

I remember when homosexuals came out of the closet (1970’s?) and their rights became protected as a “social class.” I still don’t understand why a group of people, misguided into thinking that they prefer the same sex ”partner” are a protected class of people! Think about those in Sodem and Gomorrah protesting that they had rights and that they were being discriminated against…. what a world Protection as in discrimination because of color, made sense… related to being black, brown, yellow or white. But they managed to make this happen, and since that time, things have progressively worsened to the point of homosexuality is no big thing compared to the disease they’ve created with the alphabet!

As the world becomes darker, and we get closer to the time of the Rapture, it’s easy to wonder why the Lord allows this to go on. I ask Him (a lot more lately) ”how much longer, Lord?” And He tells me that He is working His plan in His time. We all know this. Because we love the Lord, I think it’s normal to be angry with those who outwardly display their hatred and contempt for our Lord! This is nothing new to our Savior who warned us that the “world would hate us because it hated Him first.” We also know that He wishes that none should perish, and for this reason, He patiently waits for that last one to accept His free gift of salvation, grace alone by faith alone. Lord, thank You for Your patience, but I long to see Your presence! Even so, Lord Jesus come quickly!

The author conveniently forgot that it was pharaoh who killed the first born of Israel first in order to prevent (Moses) from leading the slaves out of Egypt. Oh, and let's not forget Herod sometime after that.....

Everlasting Life

Through Faith in Jesus
Someone else had posted a similar post on this article the other day. I felt led to post this response and thought I'd include it here as well.....not to take over the thread but for the sake of those who may be reading and agreeing with this article. Perhaps the author himself will find this and may God have mercy on him to draw him to Christ to find that God is truly humankind's great helper.

It is in the difficult things of life that causes people to turn to Him, one must trust and wait for God and His timing. And God can be trusted for He is faithful. And just as God faithfully moved for the Israelites, after 400 years, He too can move for us. But, in His perfect and good timing.

And just as God brought infinite good out of the suffering of Jesus Christ, for all of humankind, so too will He bring good out of our suffering.

I believe this man would do well to read a bit in Job and Elihu's response to this kind of talk:

We don’t set the time
when we will come before God in judgment.
He brings the mighty to ruin without asking anyone,

and he sets up others in their place.
He knows what they do,

and in the night he overturns and destroys them.
He strikes them down because they are wicked,

doing it openly for all to see.
For they turned away from following him.

They have no respect for any of his ways.
They cause the poor to cry out, catching God’s attention.

He hears the cries of the needy.

Job 34:26-28

“People cry out when they are oppressed.
They groan beneath the power of the mighty.
Yet they don’t ask, ‘Where is God my Creator,

the one who gives songs in the night?
Where is the one who makes us smarter than the animals

and wiser than the birds of the sky?’
And when they cry out, God does not answer

because of their pride.
But it is wrong to say God doesn’t listen,

to say the Almighty isn’t concerned.
You say you can’t see him,

but he will bring justice if you will only wait.

Job 35:9-14

“God is mighty, but he does not despise anyone!
He is mighty in both power and understanding.
He does not let the wicked live

but gives justice to the afflicted.
He never takes his eyes off the innocent,

but he sets them on thrones with kings
and exalts them forever.

Job 36:5-7

“Look, God is all-powerful.
Who is a teacher like him?
No one can tell him what to do,

or say to him, ‘You have done wrong.’
Instead, glorify his mighty works,

singing songs of praise.

Job 36:22-34

And consider Psalm 107

Some were fools; they rebelled
and suffered for their sins.
They couldn’t stand the thought of food,

and they were knocking on death’s door.
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,

and he saved them from their distress.
He sent out his word and healed them,

snatching them from the door of death.
Let them praise the Lord for his great love

and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving

and sing joyfully about his glorious acts. vs 17-22

And hopefully in his disillusionment of his Jewish upbringing, instead, take to heart what Jesus Christ the Messiah clearly said:

They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?”

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one
[Jesus Christ] he has sent.”

John 6:28-29 (Italics and underlined mine.)

Consider what Isaiah 53 says of Jesus Christ and what Josephus the respected historian confirmed, along with the testimony of Matt, Mark, Luke and John:

1 Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
3 He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.

4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
the sins of us all.

7 He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
8 Unjustly condemned,
he was led away.
No one cared that he died without descendants,
that his life was cut short in midstream.
But he was struck down
for the rebellion of my people.
9 He had done no wrong
and had never deceived anyone.
But he was buried like a criminal;
he was put in a rich man’s grave.

10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
and cause him grief.
Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,
he will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life,
and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.
11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,
he will be satisfied.
And because of his experience,
my righteous servant will make it possible
for many to be counted righteous,
for he will bear all their sins.
12 I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,
because he exposed himself to death.
He was counted among the rebels.
He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

Isaiah 53 -The Suffering Servant.

Follow King David's advice, the ancestor of Jesus:

Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Psalm 27:14

Don't be dismayed. Find truth, life and joy through believing, placing dependent faith upon Jesus Christ for your salvation.

The glorification of hating God published by the NYT is a reminder that all of the liberal propaganda machines speak with a single voice, and that voice preaches devil worship. The god of this world has clearly taken over most information media, as well as the schools, big businesses, and the government, including all three branches and the bureaucracy. All of these are used by the master they serve to draw us away from God.

I've said before that it seems to me like God uses this world as a filtration system. If that is the case, it looks like the filter is becoming more active. Since we know that nothing happens without God allowing it, it would seem to me that this increase in the power of the filter serves God, which means that those who hate Him and preach hatred of Him serve him more than they realize.

So where does that leave us? The same as always: do the best we can to keep people we run across from being filtered out; our job is getting harder but it's still the same job.
