I've been delayed a year or two on account of the Covid. Hopefully in 2022 but if the great reset timeline is true, I'll probably be detained in a camp somewhere, and I doubt they'll be serving pie. Would you mind chasing the pie with some Breyer's Natural Vanilla ice cream? Thanks!

The gallon bottles came from the store.
As you said, the delivered ones were quarts.
Wonder whatever happened to the old insulated dairy box?

The townie talk page I belong to on Facebook had a nostalgic thread about a popular candy store in the 60's and 70's that had a huge response. So many fond memories of going there with a few coins and getting a bag of the treats like you mentioned.

As for Dots, back when I ate candy I enjoyed them from time to time, but I've had to cut candy out of my diet in order to stay quasi-healthy.

Beeman's gum (tasted like weird licorice), Blackjack gum (tasted like good licorice), Teaberry gum (tasted like wintergreen, blechhh) and Thrills (which tasted like soap). And what about Bazooka gum? Necco wafers? Nehi soda?

Btw, a lot of the candy and drinks we remember from our childhood can be found at Cracker Barrel.

I used to save up the Bazooka comics and send them in for the junk they offered. In a thread here I indicated that I took the money from glass bottles that I'd bring in for cash decades ago and purchase orange or grape crush with it. But I think it was Nehi. Whatever it was there would be a little fruit residue at the bottom of the bottle.

I remember saving the comic wrappers for Bazooka and sending them in with 50 cents or so to get the silliest things, like trick hand buzzers. That was a time too when you could send away for other stuff too. Like sea monkeys.
