New Member Saying Hello

Hello all,

Been lurking here for awhile and decided to join so I could participate in the discussions. I grew up Catholic, went to 12 years of parochial school, spent several decades in the Catholic church, moved to the Lutheran church briefly when I got married a second time, moved to the Episcopal church with my wife for 25 years. I finally became truly born again in 2021 during all the nonsense that went on in churches during COVID and now am happy being part of a local Calvary Chapel. Unfortunately, my wife still goes to the Episcopal church which I'm pretty sad about, but I can never see myself going back. Hoping to bond with some new friends here.

Welcome.

Does your church have any group events your wife may enjoy?
Well, we do have group events but I'm not sure if she would enjoy them. We did do a Valentine's dinner of sorts with a preaching on marriage by a guest CC pastor. She didn't have the greatest time. New people she didn't know of course, but some of the talk rubbed her the wrong way. She still has feminist tendencies and as we know, that's not something that is supported in biblical teaching. I'll try again with something different. She did say that she was not going to change churches so... :(

Its all about Jesus and your relationship with Him

Its tough when faiths collide or strain against one another.

But as Paul admonished Christians with unbelieving spouses, if possible, make every effort to love and respect them. Honor them appropriately.
As for yourself, seek God's way and abide in Christ.
Pray for her but keep it private. Some may try to shame a spouse into religion and wind up making a determined enemy.

1 Cor 13 is the test to gauge how you are loving. Long suffering, not keeping score, mercy..... those aspects can be tough.
And it is important to be meek but not a doormat. Power under control. Truth and boldness in Christ, but smothered with compassion.

But then that's a challenge for every believer - self included- moment by moment, day by day.

Welcome.

Has your wife confessed Jesus as her Savior, trusting in Him only for eternal salvation?
