Netflix Subscribes to a New Approach on Politics

After years of abuse, Republicans were finally George McFly to Back to the Future's Biff, landing a blow on Disney that still stings. Suddenly, woke CEOs, who'd gotten overly comfortable treating conservatives like political punching bags, were forced to stop and think: Could we be next? Now, in the deafening silence of Big Business, there are quiet rumblings that the GOP's resolve might just have turned the tide.

In board rooms like Netflix's, the conversation has shifted from how leadership can accommodate its most vocal zealots to striking a balance for every employee. A month after Elon Musk blasted the company, complaining that the "woke mind virus is making Netflix unwatchable," the streaming service has taken an intentional step to be truly inclusive after last fall's high-profile spat with staff. Some of the company's employees were loudly opposed to airing a Dave Chappelle special, where the comedian spoke bluntly about the transgender debate. Netflix refused to cancel the show, despite a protest in front of the company's Los Angeles offices.

Now, months later, the company has a message for workers: if you can't handle free speech, don't let the door hit you. In its new workplace guidelines, Netflix included a section on "artistic expression" that makes it quite clear that they won't be held hostage by employees who don't like diverse viewpoints. "Not everyone will like -- or agree with -- everything on our service," the guidelines say, adding: "We let viewers decide what's appropriate for them, versus having Netflix censor specific artists or voices... Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful. If you'd find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you.".........

........Barely two months into that fallout, the backlash against Disney is so ferocious that NBC actually decided to bury its own polling on Bob Chapek's company. And no wonder. The picture it paints isn't all that flattering for any media who's been on board with Disney's "not-so-secret" LGBT agenda. But the numbers don't lie, and in a single year, the House of Mouse's favorability has completely crashed -- from +56 to a stunning +3 today. As John Nolte points out, "Those numbers are fine for a politician. They are death for a corporation."

To Justin Danhof, head of corporate governance at Strive Asset Management, those statistics should be a flashing neon sign for Big Business. "Disney's a very prominent example of, look, if you go too far, there are certain government actors and consumers that are just going to push back. And I think Disney took a couple of steps too far. Look, you don't go after someone's wallet, and you don't go after their children. And Disney went after children."........

:shocked .......rubbing eyes to see if I'm reading this right........

Being  angry over what Disney was doing is righteous indignation. They were doing it just in the name of filthy lucre(money) is disgraceful. Doing the devils :diablo work of :gaah brainwashing our children and grandchildren into evilness of the :devilish perversion of the lgbtq agenda and the occult. Now they are reaping what they sowed.

I guess Netflix finally realized, as many more companies will shortly, that "woke = broke." When a company understands that if they continue to be politically correct and woke that they're going to lose money, and in particular CEOs will lose those big, fat bonuses, suddenly they decide that their financial bottom line is more important than their political beliefs.

Now that Netflix actually has competition they need to start to care more about the bottom line. When it was essentially just them and Hulu they could get away with whatever because people didn't really have much other choice. But with increased competition, dwindling libraries as many titles are being snatched towards their originating studio's new streaming services, rising fees, and a growing malaise to being preached at in our escapist entertainment, they may finally have to accept that people pay for what they actually want to see. Still not motivated to come back to Netflix though.

Yeah, the butchering of Ann of Green Gables with p.c. muck was really disturbing. It was like twisting the sweet innocence of Little House on the Prairie into an obvious and putrid propaganda of ungodliness.

Completely agree. It was vile. I am a big fan of the book series and pretty much anything by Lucy Maud Montgomery and this was completely against the grain of her writing style. There was always a seedy underbelly to life no matter the time or place but the books were not about that at all. And putting modern idealism into a time period where it didn't exist is also irritating in it's own right. But the books were filled with optimism, the love of life and finding the beauty and wonder no matter where you were. In one of the episodes they randomly threw in a pedophile trying to lure Anne away. It didn't work on her but the scene lasted long enough to see him trying again on some younger children behind her. Then add the harsh realities of puberty, secret lesbian affairs, crude talk and a secret criminal plot...it was just oppressive. I had to stop watching.

Another case of went woke, got broke, now trying to back peddle. I have a good memory and usually hold a grudge. It's a trait that I'm not proud of, but, it's who I am.

This gets me riled up as well. These woke nuts don't want to accept that homosexuality, transgenderism, and all their other pet debaucheries were, until modern times, considered sin, perversions, mental disorders, were illegal, and those caught doing such things would be arrested and jailed. They're trying to re-write history, thus they're perpetuating disinformation. But being the hypocrites they are, they claim to be so against and despise disinformation, they're going to create a federal department to stop it, yet they are the biggest instigators of disinformation on the planet. :doh
