Jesus loved us and said we should Love our enemies
If I were to give a Sermon from the preachers pulpit, it would have to include 2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.". Why you may ask? There is a lot of weakness being manifested in the church today from everything that is going on around them...and I don't blame them...well maybe just a little. Depression is at an all time high, and even I can feel it, and I am not a depressed person. But when we forget that God has allowed this last year to happen to everyone, then we must also realize that it is part of His plan. When I focus on the many problems that this last year has brought, I want to give up the fight, throw in the towel and say "Take me away Lord I had enough". If even the mighty prophet of God, Elijah, felt this way when he fled from the political powers of his day, then it should not surprise us that it will happen to Gods' people who are still part of this world. But remember that Elijah had two Jesus encounters on the mountain, once when he was still living on earth, the other during the transfiguration. That tells me we need to come to Jesus in our weaknesses and draw strength for the day. Below are several different versions of the same verse that has the same word "sufficient". When we come to Him in our weaknesses, we realize that He is truly all we need.
