Verified accounts are temporarily limited to reading 10,000 posts a day, Musk said, adding that the unverified accounts will be limited to 1000 posts a day with new unverified accounts limited to 500

Twitter is limiting how many tweets per day various accounts can read, to discourage "extreme levels" of data scraping and system manipulation, Executive Chair Elon Musk said in a post on the social media platform on Saturday. Verified accounts are temporarily limited to reading 10,000 posts a day, Musk said, adding that the unverified accounts will be limited to 1000 posts a day with new unverified accounts limited to 500. Previously, Twitter had announced it will require users to have an account on the social media platform to view tweets, a move that Musk on Friday called a "temporary emergency measure."

You get 10,000 if you pay the $8 a month. Twitter suspended my account, which is okay. I started visiting after Musk bought it. I think the new CEO is starting to crack down on conservative accounts. While visiting there I learned a lot more about what's going on in the world after filtering out most of the tweets I'd read.

I think it's 1000 if you're not paying for the privilege. That would have probably been enough for me but not for a lot of regular users.

I’ve admittedly been on Twitter too much and this move by Musk regardless of the reason may help a lot of people like me move on from Twitter. So, I logged out for the time being. Like you, I learned a lot about what’s going on in the world but a break is healthy.

I wonder how they determine which posts count. If you scroll past a post, does that post count towards the total or only if you open up the full post and/or reply or retweet? This limit will probably discourage people from using the "For You" feature and only use "Following".

If Musk is trying to nudge more users into paying the monthly fee I don't think it'll work. If he can't make money from ad revenue like so many of the large internet companies are doing, especially with all the eyes on Twitter, then I'd say something is broke.

What I discovered after I checked it out was it was a good place to keep abreast of what's happening out there. I'm pretty isolated when it comes to knowing what's going on. Now that I'm suspended from Twitter... can't think of another place where I can easily pick up on what's happening in the world.

Have you considered checking out Truth Social? It’s possible to get a pretty fair view of what’s going on.

I joined Truth Social when they first started up. They've got a ways to go before they're anything like Twitter. Unless a bunch of conservatives are forced off of Twitter I don't think Truth Social will ever be much more than it is now... but we'll see. I'm going to try and follow a bunch of Truth Social users to see if that helps with what I'm seeing there.

The message said because I was promoting violence but my post included nothing of the sort. I just agreed with someone that the FBI director should be tried for treason and receive the applicable sentence. This was an older post and I was aleady given a time out of several days for it. I suspect that under new management they're looking at thinning the conservative ranks of unwavering Trump supporters... that's my guess anyways.

I'm on Telegram and here. I've never had a desire to Twit.

I tried Locals but each person on there seems to want to put their stuff behind a pay wall. Not interested in paying.

I also signed up for Truth but they don't really have much extra on there that I'm not seeing on Telegram.

These social sites seem to be growing like the streaming services. I has become too much.

What kind of place is Telegram? Is it a news source of is it something along the lines of twitter? I don't do twitter, instagram or the devil's playground called Tik Tok.
