Moses question

DH and I were watching church from home today and our pastor did a sermon on Genesis 2:1-11. When pastor was talking about how Pharoah’s daughter knew that the baby she would later name Moses was Hebrew, she knew because he was circumcised.

DH said, “I wonder how Moses kept that hidden while he was growing up under Pharoah’s household?” Hmm…..I tried searching for that and the only thing that I can find is that he was probably about 40 when he first left Egypt. The other tidbits I’ve seen point to that part of Genesis using different nouns for the Hebrews that mean brethren, but that doesn’t really answer the question….

Anybody?

Interesting but at moment can't see they would know Moses was Hebrew.

Matthew6:33

Withstand in the evil day. Eph 6:13
I haven't studied this in a while but I think they knew he was a Hebrew. He was just under the Princess's protection.

Exodus 2:6 NKJV — And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

Also noteworthy:

Proverbs 21:1 NKJV — The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.

It was God's doing.

Well darn…..ever think you are losing your ever loving mind..?? It was Exodus 2:1-11 Let’s start again…

2:6 says she knew the child was Hebrew. I believe our Pastor said it was because Moses would have been circumcised that Pharoah’s daughter would have known he was Jewish.

“And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

So, same question, how did Moses hide the fact that he was Jewish from the Egyptians until he left the first time?… he would have been about 40 years old…

I Shall Not Be Moved
11One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. 12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”

14 The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.”
Exodus 2:11-14

Apparently the Hebrew slaves knew Moses was Hebrew. Why wouldn't the Egyptians know it as well? What I am asking is---why would Moses have to hide being a Hebrew?? I would think as a child and young man he would have participated in every day life at the palace..swimming, bathing, sports...the Egyptian boys, men and nurses would know he was circumcised.
