MLB and the Dodgers

Dodgers are looking good so far. Clayton Kershaw had his first start of this season pitching last night against the Twins. He pitched 7 perfect innings, struck out 13 batters. Its unheard of to take a pitcher out of the game with only 2 innings left for a perfect game. In the almost 150 years of baseball, there have only been 23 perfect games pitched, which is one pitcher, getting all 27 batters out, without anyone reaching base.

I think it was the wise move to pull him out because over the last several seasons, his arm had had numeours injuries, so he would have faced a strong potential of hurting his arm, then not pitching again for a few months. Clayton was fine with the decision, as the manager asked him, and he agreed it was not worth the risk. He is a true team player!

Reds fan here…..miserable season. The oldest professional franchise in baseball and relegated to laughingstock by an owner that does not care about putting a winning team on the field. Cincinnati is in catholic purgatory. So sad.

At least there's a way to fix that... some indulgences to the local catholic bishop should take care of it. :hehee

I just looked at the standings... maybe it'll take lots and lots of indulgences...

Dodgers now have the best record in baseball.

Sadly, Vin Scully who was their Radio/TV broadcaster for 67 years, has died at age 94. When I was a young boy, many nights I would sneak my transistor radio under my pillow and listen to him calling the Dodger games.

I've noticed that. I read an article that indicated that they might have some problems with their pitching staff due to injuries... if that's the case, it doesn't seem to have affected their ability to continue winning games.
Their top 2 pitchers are injured (Kershaw and Bueller), but others have stepped up big time.

The Dodgers offense is the best. They have outscored their opponents by 241 runs this year. The second best in the National league are the Mets, and they outscored their opponents by only 126.

Too bad its a Los Angeles team, but just because I dont like CA, does not mean I stop rooting for my favorite team since I was 6.

The Dodgers are definitely on a roll. A Mets Dodgers playoff series would be awesome. Both have great pitching, but I think the Dodgers have the more dangerous llinup.
The Mets are looking good with the second best record in baseball! Dodgers vs Mets in the playoffs would be fun to watch.

12 in a row for the Dodgers! The Dodgers record since moving from Brooklyn NY to LA is 13 wins in a row set back in 1965.

When Im feeling isolated, there is usually a Dodger game on for me to enjoy. I love baseball, but its a slow moving game, and I cant watch more than a few innings at a time. I do check box scores everyday for my favorite players and teams.

Good first game, but of course I would feel that way since the Dodgers won last night.

Its most likely going to be the Mets with the second best record in the National league by the end of the season. They are a really good team.
Mets need better hitting. Why do players all seem to slump at once? Hitting Joey Gallo of all people with the bases loaded did not help either.

Good wins for the Mets taking 2 out 3 from the Dodgers. I knew as soon as they took Clayton out of the game, the Mets bats would take advantage.
I’m sure Clayton will build himself up and be lights out by playoff time. Buck Showalter has been amazing. I give him most of the credit for the Mets success. Good base running by them yesterday.
