the King has come, veiled in humanities humility,
Love has clothed Himself to look like you and me,
Why, you ask,
It is the Lord stretching forth His right hand to save us!
To save us from what?
From a life void of His presence,
an eternity of hell with no end in sight,
hopelessness...hoping in vain for some kind of reprieve.
Christmas can only be experienced by the living,
and we are to proclaim this Good News
So a very hearty Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

The –mas in Xmas comes from the Old English word for mass, as in a church service, especially one in the Roman Catholic Church including a celebration of the Eucharist.

The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine (he was the first Christian Roman Emperor).

Wow I didn’t realize you were that many hours ahead.

As I pushed back from the table I recalled what my Dad would say after every big family feast (my mother knew how to load a table with everything). He would always get a certain look in his eyes and say “I wish everybody in the world had this much to eat.”
