Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has officially announced his bid for Speaker of the House, throwing his hat into the ring even as votes are still being counted to determine which party will control the lower chamber, The Hill reported on Thursday. According to the report, McCarthy sent a letter to House Republicans on Wednesday asking for their support in his quest for the top spot in the chamber. He noted that while votes in Tuesday’s midterm elections are still being counted, signs are pointing in the GOP’s direction.

McCarthy is talking about probing into the Hunter Biden fiasco and the corruption of the Bidens. I definitely like that. That has been a long time coming but the con artists of DC having been blocking it. So, if he talking about doing it, I'm all for it, and glad to hear that he is outspoken about it.

I’m unsure about McCarthy. He is ‘good friends’ with Frank Lutz who is a lobbyist for left wing corporations (including google) and McCarthy even rented a room in Frank Lutz’s DC condo during the pandemic. I wish Scalise were speaker but he’s said he’s not interested.

McCarthy is a RINO. Madison Cawthorn, former Republican Congressman from NC, a Christian, and a parapalegic, publicly denounced some of his co-Congressmen for inviting him to parties where some immoral things to do with sex and drugs were happening. McCarthy not only refused to allow any of the GOP money to go to support Mr. Cawthorn's bid for re-election, he also publicly criticized Cawthorn for outing these horrible people. And because of McCarthy's vengeful actions, Cawthorn lost. Personally, I don't care for McCarthy and I certainly don't trust him. I seriously doubt little, if anything, he's promising right now will ever get done. I'm not sure why he's making a bid for SOTH when the Republicans haven't won it ~ and with all the cheating that goes on by the Demonrats, I have serious doubts that they will win it.

The Demonrats are trying to figure how many votes they need to come up with to keep the House and Senate so they can finish the destruction of this country. Look what they've already done in less than two years to turn this country into some place we don't recognize. In another two years under Demonrat rule, old Jinping will be green with envy at how this country is even more of a Communist-run hell hole than China.

Trump supports McCarthy for speaker. However, Im not so sure having the Donalds support carries as much weight as it use to.

I suspect DeSantis will try to convince Trump too many Rebublicans don't like him, and this country cant take another liberal administration.
Perhaps they can have a friendly primary where the people can decide instead of Trump telling us what we want.

As Trump is already referring to DeSantis as "DeSanctimonious," I seriously doubt there's going to be a "friendly" primary. In fact, I'm not sure DeSantis will even run for POTUS in 2024. If he does, and anyone else running, Trump isn't going to cut him a break just as he didn't with all of the 2016 GOP nominees who were running. One of the things I don't like about Trump is that he's not able to keep his mouth shut and be an adult when the situation calls for it. If he didn't give the Demonrats and lamestream media so much ammunition to work with because of the childish, silly things he says sometimes, they'd probably get bored with him and not focus their attention 100% on him all the time.

Both McCarthy and McDonnell need to be out of leadership positions in my view. If I were to suggest that Trump has a weakness, I'd suggest it's in picking people...

A lot of members probably don't want that position, the ones who want it are probably not the best choices as they're likely too attracted to the power in the position.

If the Repubs do win the House, I they get a qualified person who does things fairly in there.
