On Friday, Maryland state lawmakers released Senate Bill 516, an 88-page document that details how it will all work.

"The goal wasn't to get Marylanders high, it was to take cannabis out of the criminal stream of commerce to stop minority young men from getting arrested and dying from it," said Del. C.T. Wilson (D-MD).

He told WUSA9 that the bill centers around social equity, "inclusion for disproportionately affected communities that have basically been affected by the war on drugs."

"We're making sure that not only can they participate but they can benefit," said Wilson.

Maybe not Sodom and Gomorrah, but headed that direction very quickly.

Cannabis is one of those drugs that is like alcohol. Its too easy to grow.

Regulating it is probably the best thing we can do. Unfortunately the states cannot agree on how or even if it should be regulated.

Colorado statistics indicate its not a good thing. Certainly there is a lot of police work that can be better used for other issues,

but our lax system only breeds contempt for the law and there is the root problem.

If we continue to reward evil by not punishing it, it will grow and flourish.

I guess these politicians are products of our failed education system themselves. I'm neutral on whether or not states should de-criminalize marijuana use. I don't believe the Federal govmint should be involved in that question at all. But the above is the most pathetic reasoning for a law I've ever seen.

There was a time in our country where drugs could be bought over the counter, my mom knew what Marijuana smells like because her grandmother smoked it to help with her glaucoma. Edgar Allan Poe and most of our classic Authors got their best ideas when they were high on cocaine or any other drug they could afford to buy. One, don't remember which one, was in the middle of a really good high and was writing some work that had come to him, he got a knock at the door and by the time his visitor had left, he had come down from his high and never could finish said book. Why were these drugs that were once provided at our fingertips ever made illegal in the first place? Did the government really give a flip on the people's misuse of them? I think not, I believe it had something to do with money and the substances could not be regulated. So like people in charge always do, instead of going after those that misused the drugs they just said, nobody can use them, if we can't get our share of the profits, then no one can.

Follow the money.

Years ago people abused narcotics or sold sham substances that killed people. The US Administration supposedly formed a bureau to prevent that.

Now they encourage abuse, reward pharmaceuticals, and turn their back to the death and crime bred by drugs.

We've come a long way baby,
actually full circle,

Or did we just transit the edge of the gold dollar again?

They also don't like anyone questioning authority.
One of the main reasons they put heavy laws against psychedelics ,especially LSD which became illegal in CA and NV in 66 and illegal on a Federal level in all states in 68.

Any restrictions on any drugs seems hypocritical by their reasoning and "logic".

Why?

Because alcohol is legal. Alcohol is a drug.
It is a depressant .
It also is one of the most addictive drugs one can become ensnared to.
It has been proven that it is harder to get off alcohol addiction than that of heroin.
It is one of the BIGGEST SCOURGES against the back of America from the get.

What does The Word of God say about alcohol?

Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker , and strong drink is
raging : and whosoever is deceived
thereby is not wise.

140,000 people die from alcohol abuse in
America every year.

Just making a point about the hypocrisy,
and a concise bit about the destruction
of alcohol addiction.

My prayers for those who suffer from any and
all addiction are lifted up often.

Alcohol and drug abuse destroy countless lives.
It is quite staggering.
