Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid and Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett intend to engage in marathon talks to form a unity government beginning Thursday after President Reuven Rivlin announced Wednesday night that he is entrusting Lapid with the second mandate to form a government. Lapid and Bennett wanted to form a government as soon as possible and believe it can be done within a week. They expressed concern that if they did not hurry, their efforts could be harmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose mandate ended Tuesday night without a coalition being formed and who is trying to sabotage the formation of a government that would replace him. Yamina MKs are under pressure to oppose a unity government, following the lead of MK Amichai Chikli, who announced his opposition on Wednesday morning. Netanyahu vowed that more MKs would join him.

He is a young, untested other than being finance minister, former TV host, with good hair and a good line of patter to appeal to both right and left sides of the spectrum. Not a lot of substance, but really good at telling people what they want to hear from the looks of things. Secular. Seems to think he can call himself a security "hawk" while tapping into alliances with the Palestinians as well as the anti Netanyahu right wing of Naftali Bennett.

My assessment is that he is even weaker than Gantz and Bennett and another one who is putting their political future ahead of the needs of the country.

I think he is weak, politically correct and would definitely send all the wrong signals to the enemies of Israel all over the world. Oh and he is for a 2 State solution!

Reminds me a LOT of my own Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau! Good hair, not a lot going on under that good hair.

here are some links to get a feel for this man who may end up leading Israel.
