Why do you ask? Daytime is for sleeping. Night time is for work and play and admiring God's wonderful handiwork in the heavens :dance2

(my Circadian rhythms are naturally up-side-down . . . a wonderful gift from God :smile
My husband and I are both night people too. My ideal time to work is evening hours and then bed at 2:30pm. Waking up at 10:30-11am is perfect. Mike works 3-11pm. Now with Peter it's really challenging because he's awake at 7:30am. We tag team so that one wakes up with Peter , shoe the other keeps sleeping and then we switch off at 10am.

Not perfect but it's something. Time will tell if Peter is a morning or night person. Hopefully he's a morning person. He'll have an easier time with jobs and schedules.

There's lack of help everywhere. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and he told me he is Short of help and can't find anyone who "wants to work". He needs help in his front office at least to work the phones but he hasn't been able to find the help. It's interesting how there's a lot of job openings available and alot of people out of work but the two problems haven't been able to find resolve.

Everything is upside down and backwards. Some is sickness, other might be the availability of govt payments for people who lost their jobs in 2020 and don't want to go looking for work. Then the workplaces are different with some places out of business and others run off their feet so if someone was a store clerk or a travel agent, they might not know where to look.

My postman is struggling under the avalanche of parcels, half the staff are sick right now and some of the others are taking unpaid leave. (it's Canada, don't ask-- complicated answer-- current situation problem) Parcels that used to take a few days express are taking weeks, and even then you are lucky to get them. The ones that are at work are swamped.

I had to go into Sephora for an eyebrow pencil on Wed morning at 11 am and there were staff all over, and no customers in sight except for me. (makes me wonder how they can afford to do that for too long) If one eyebrow pencil profit margin is about $10 on a $25 pencil they are bleeding hard but who knows what happens on a good weekend at Sephora, maybe everyone arrives and shops like crazy.

The mall it is in though looked and felt like an old western movie, where the cowboy rides in, and nobody is there, just tumbleweeds rolling around and ominous music. Lights are dimmed. Stores are open, with one person inside at the till.

The jewelers look depressed, but the eyeglasses place is fine, the nail salon has customers again so it's hit and miss. Some smaller shops look like they are hanging on by a thread. The suitcase place has gone into purses more, and everything is shifting and changing.

The grocery store is fine right now, but there is different stuff missing again lately from the shelves. They are concentrating on the fresh stuff, but the canned and dry goods are missing a lot.

The hardware store is the same, and the gas station. Mostly ok, with a few shelves missing odds and ends.

The Rexall pharmacy seems to have new staff again, and the ladies that I used to know are never there anymore which is sad. But they are doing a booming business and so is the little post office in the back.

You're so right. Then like our local Walgreens pharmacy store put up signs all over the store with the word Warning then followed by saying they have had an increase of inventory losses because due to increased shoplifting snd they don't have efficient security. Those signs alone is enough to scare potential employees away. It's a ripple effect that everyone is feeling. And none of it would be so bad is lawlessness hadn't become part of the new normal with the soft on crime actions out in place by lawless political leaders. And why is it this way? Their version of Social justice.

Or in the case of cat, food aluminum is now hard to come by so soft cat food is pretty scarce at some places (by the way, I've started adding water to good, dry cat food, letting it soak first before feeding, cats love it and is actually healthier....just a helpful tip).

Hmm, that IS a good idea. We’ve been gradually stocking up on a lot of things for months, although I’m not sure how long I can eat tuna, beans, and canned stew, lol.

One problem with that might be if get job will lose benefits. There was one state that took care of that. If a person on unemployment got a job and started getting paid the state would still give part of the unemployment check until the person wages was twice what the unemployment check was. Only that didn't last long until the state was forced to discontinue.

But . . . the worker shortage (and vaccines so I'm less likely to take wuhan virus to Dad) meant I got a job!
