I read where Kobe Bryant was a devoted Catholic and had had communion a couple days prior to his death. Just a couple of thoughts. First, I'm sure that there are many legitimate and godly saints in the RCC, however, because of their stated beliefs, I can't feel comfortable about Kobe's eternity. I hope that he managed to find Jesus in that doctrinally dark system. Second, I noticed that, in the story I read, the bishop talked about his comfort in the "arms of Mary." As in point 1, I hope Kobe was able to avoid the Catholic errors and find his comfort in the arms of Jesus. Finally, I hope that Kobe's death forces many people to ponder their own mortality and to consider what their fate will be for all eternity.
