WASHINGTON — Over 100 Jewish organizations are urging the Senate to codify the 2015 Supreme Court decision extending federal protections to same sex marriage.

“The Respect for Marriage Act would ensure that all federal benefits are available to married couples regardless of the state in which they live,” said the statement released Wednesday and spearheaded by the Reform movement’s Religious Action Center and Keshet, a Jewish LGBTQ rights group. “Congress has a responsibility to pursue economic equity for all, regardless of geographical location, and include historically marginalized groups in this pursuit.”

Agudath Israel of America, a haredi Orthodox umbrella body, objected to the proposed law, which has passed the US House of Representatives and is now under consideration in the Senate.

This is really disappointing. Of all the people on earth who should know better it is the Jews. The current modern day thinking of Jewish people is that of progressive and liberal values. These values are at contrast and in conflict to what the majority of Americans believe. It is really sad to see them go down this path but if a person is not guided by the Holy Spirit they will fall inline with the world's views on morality and ungodly living.

I'm just saying this as an observance of what I see. I know there are religious Jewish groups that oppose these things, but they are are a very small percentage of the overall Jewish people. Just as there is a very small percentage that is Messianic and has the Holy Spirit indwelt in them. This is just very disappointing. But I guess nothing surprises the Lord. :sad

I saw a recent Dennis Prager video in which he described the differences between the RCC, Evangelicals and Jews in terms of achieving their salvation.

Dennis said the RCC believes in Faith + Works,
The Evangelicals believe in Faith alone,
and the Jews believe in Works.

That is a very disappointing analysis regarding the Jews.

In the US especially, too many Jews lean strongly Left and keep voting in dopey Democrats who then go on to disrespect Israel. That's suicide by idiocy, ignorance and stupidity.

I agree Dan. That is a good summary.

In all fairness in our natural state we are all of the world. It is only when one is born again that the Holy Spirit helps us to see the errors of the world.

The stumbling block for Jews is Jesus. Sadly, the spirit of the Sadducees and Pharisees of Jesus' time lives on in many that prevents them from seeing the truth. Which is why we need to pray for them and help them come to understand who the Messiah is. :pray
