The Israelis set for new Jewish temple on Al-Aqsa site

Jerusalem (AFP) – With imported sacrificial cows, ancient hymns and growing support, some nationalist Jews hope to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem's Old City, at a site at the heart of Israeli-Palestinian tensions.

n a suburb of Tel Aviv, a group of choristers were getting ready for the moment they will rejoice at the reconstruction of the Jewish temple some 2,000 years after its destruction, which they believe will accelerate the arrival of the messiah.

But for others, realising their goal would massively inflame tensions around the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem.

Chorister Shmuel Kam said Jews have been "waiting" two millennia for the revival of the temple.

Members of the Orthodox Jewish group claim to be descendants of the biblical Tribe of Levi, which performed hymns and music at the holy site.

"When the temple will be built, we will ask the Levites to come sing and they won't know. They have to learn," said Menahem Rozenthal, director of the men-only choir created a few months ago by the Temple Institute.

Founded in 1987, the institute aims to rebuild the temple, training choirs and clerics and making objects for use in religious rites.

While apprentice choristers come from across Israel to delve into the collection of ancient hymns, the Temple Institute has made all of the objects deemed necessary for Jewish rites according to rabbinical instructions.

These include priestly robes, baking moulds for bread, incense burners and musical instruments.

'Matter of time'

The faithful have their sights set on the large, tree-dotted compound in the heart of Jerusalem's Old City.

Known as Temple Mount to Jews and revered as their holiest site, the compound has for centuries housed Al-Aqsa mosque, the third most sacred place in Islam.

Those seeking to rebuild the temple recall the former place of worship, destroyed around 70 AD during the Roman period.

According to Jewish tradition, their first temple was demolished in 586 BC by then ruler Nebuchadnezzar II at the same location.

For Haim Berkovits, a 50-year-old third temple advocate, "you can say whatever you want (about the Muslim presence), this was the place for Jews".

Jewish worship at the future temple is "only a matter of time", he said.

Berkovits is part of Boneh Israel ("Building Israel"), an organisation which according to its website works at "bringing the redemption closer".

I can picture God causing an earthquake, or causing a missle from Iran or somewhere to go off course, to destroy the muslim mosque, so that the temple can be built. The covenant that Israel signs at the beginning of the trib will allow them to build the new temple, but they will most likely have to give up land to the palestinians to get that. We know that God will not be happy with Israel for splitting up His land. It is certainly going
to be interesting to see exactly how this all comes to pass. We won't be here..............but, I think we will have a view of it from heaven.

There's nothing in the bible that even implies the go ahead for the temple comes from the AC.. it's what all eschatology teachers teach, but my belief has always been, that's just their opinion and my question has always been "where does it say or even imply that?"

It doesn't as far as I know, I'm forming my own opinion which basically the Jews will start their own sacrificial services which leads to a clamoring to build the temple, this in turn will cause uproar and coincidentally may, just may happen when the ezekiel war comes about and the Muslim religion will be destroyed and nothing will stop them from having the third temple, we all know the rest. As always I can be wrong.

The Temple Institute has a page all about the 10th red heifer. On their page they have some statements from the midrash and revered rabbis. For example.

https://templeinstitute.org/red-heifer/

"The Tenth Red Heifer Will be Prepared by the Messiah
In recounting this historical record in his commentary to the Mishna, the great Maimonides ends with the enigmatic statement: "... and the tenth red heifer will be accomplished by the king, the Messiah; may he be revealed speedily, Amen, May it be G-d's will."

With this amazing statement, Maimonides recounts an ancient tradition - that the tenth red heifer is associated with the Messianic era. Does this perhaps mean that the appearance of a red heifer in these waning end times is an indication, a forerunner of the appearance of the Messiah himself, who will officiate at its preparation?

If there has been no red heifer for the past 2,000 years, perhaps it is because the time was not right; Israel was far from being ready. But now... what could it mean for the times we live in, to have the means for purification so close at hand? With the words of Maimonides in mind, we cannot help but wonder and pray: If there are now red heifers... is ours the era that will need them?

On this note, it is fitting that we pay particular attention to a Midrashic teaching.".

We know this will be difficult. The Jewish people are going to have so much to sort out and reevaluate it will truly be an obvious work of God when they finally see.

Has there ever been a tenth red heifer? Jesus is the Messiah, they didn't accept him as such, which means he never prepared the tenth red heifer. According to the temple experts, the Messiah has yet to come, there have been two temples without the preparation of the tenth red heifer. This tells me, there does not have to be a tenth red heifer nor does one need to be prepared before the third temple goes up.

Katt, what the Temple Institute is suggesting is that according to Jewish expectations, Messiah is the one to actually process the sacrifice. I may have this wrong but what I read indicates that the tenth heifer that is currently waiting for eligibility will be sacrificed by the Messiah. Therefore they conclude that the Messiah is soon to appear.

They are still looking in the wrong direction.

Or maybe the ac will handle the sacrifice as part of his claim to be God? Talk about wrong Direction

I think the next one is the tenth.

I've heard a rabbi say that they have met with the messiah and are waiting for him to reveal himself. Of course, he is NOT the Messiah, and they are deceived. But if all this about the "messiah" being the one to sacrifice the tenth red heifer, then we will not be here to see that happen. But perhaps that sacrificial ceremony will be at the signing of the peace treaty with the many. Perhaps Muslims will realize that the Al Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock are actually the remnants of the Temple of Jupiter, making it an idolatrous structure that must be destroyed, or Muslims will be so disheartened by the failure of the Gog-Magog invasion that they won't care.

Jesus did say that in the end times there will be many who will come in his name and even some claiming to be the Messiah. I believe there was a posting on this forum about a rabbi in Israel who was being proclaimed as the Messiah. His name is Rav Shlomo Yehuda. Google him and you will find he is doing miracles and all kinds of things.

In actuality they really don't care about The Dome Of The Rock. Arafat himself said "Do you think we care about The Dome Of The Rock?! We care nothing about that, we will blow it up ourselves, blame Israel and the entire world will believe it!" It's just a ruse, just a way to keep them in power on the Temple Mount. They don't care anything about The Dome Of The Rock. On the other hand, for some reason, they do seem to care a whole lot about the Alaqsa Mosque, but they never talk about that one. Everybody talks about The Dome Of The Rock, but they really don't care about it.

i find this a quite interesting point ..... as if the Rabbis consider the AC the messiah (as Israel is expecting a man(or 2 men) as messiah so not God's Son) if what I am thinking is a possibilty then the AC before he is revealed as AC may indeed be welcomed in Israel as the messiah???
