Israel Police thwart plot to assassinate Itamar Ben-Gvir - report
The suspect allegedly planned to steal police license plates so that he could get close to Ben-Gvir.

Israel Police arrested a resident of east Jerusalem who admitted to planning to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Channel 13 reported on Tuesday. The police investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly planned to steal police license plates so that he could get close to Ben-Gvir and met with people from terrorist organizations who gave him money to help his plan.
The plan was intended to be carried out during Ramadan when Ben-Gvir intended on visiting Temple Mount. A statement by Ben-Gvir's office claimed that as well as the assassination, the suspect planned to kidnap a dead body to hold negotiations with the country, but the statement did not indicate whose body he meant to kidnap.
