Interesting Observation

Something I found very interesting in Daniel Chapter 3 is that King Nebuchadnezzar is often seen as a type of the antichrist. In the first paragraph (verses 1-7), it's mentioned six different times that Nebuchadnezzar "set up" the image. The image itself is described as 60 cubits by 6 cubits. In verse 5, it even lists six different kinds of instruments. This all points to the image the antichrist sets up in Revelation 13:14-18.

It's also fascinating to note that the number 666 appears in two other instances in the Bible. The first is in 2 Chronicles 9:13, where it talks about Solomon's sin of multiplying gold (Deut 17:17), stating that Solomon received six hundred threescore and six talents of gold in one year.

Another occurrence is in Ezra 2:13, where it mentions that the children of Adonikam numbered 666. Interestingly, "Adonikam" means "Lord of rebellion."

Lastly, in John 6:66, it speaks of disciples who turned away from Jesus, which parallels the idea of people turning away from Him when they accept the mark of the beast and its associated number, 666.

It's true there are some interesting connections in God's word. :nod

However, for the sake of keeping RF threads from veering off of biblical truth, Chris in RF's rules (point #6) has asked us to refrain from numerology subjects....just because conversations have tended to easily go in the wrong direction. So, we're asked to not engage in this subject.

This is what helps keep the forums open for all of us to fellowship in. :)

I wasn’t aware. Numerology and Biblical numerics are separate issues though. For instance everyone knows the number 7 is the number of completion in the Bible just as the number six is the number of man. 40 is the number of testing ect.

It was not my intention to engage in numerology but point out a pattern of the biblical number of 6.

If that is considered numerology by this forum then I understand and will not post such things in the future.

I will throw out a wrench for y'all. After a careful reading of Daniel 4 (the end), I believe we will see Nebuchadnezzar in heaven some day.

Daniel 4:34-37 NKJV — And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever:

For His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
And His kingdom is from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;
He does according to His will in the army of heaven
And among the inhabitants of the earth.
No one can restrain His hand
Or say to Him, “What have You done?” At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

My apologies, I meant to type Bible codes. And was just wanting to give a heads up on #6 so people were aware. :)

We had the forums shut down and opened recently with a request that we be careful to abide by the forum rules, so we're trying to give gentle, proactive cautions is all.

I agree and I don't know how someone could read something else into it. Yet, I remember speaking to a brother that I was serving with at Church and he looked at me like he had seen a ghost when I explained this lol.
Maybe his eyes are opened a bit more now, real enlightenment has that affect.

Nebuchadnezzar has a lousy reputation, and for good reason.

He had made declarations of God's sovereignty at least twice before Daniel 4, yet he always went back on it.

If Daniel 4 was a reflection of true repentance, and this was how it was for him the rest of his days, then he would be saved.

If he backslid into idolatry and love of himself even after this....he had a history of that.

I put it down as possible but can't say for sure.

Well if chapter 4 is anything to go by then if he didn't change after that absolutely nothing would make it happen imo.

What would be the point of the Bible (Holy Spirit) including this type of exaltation by an unsaved person not being led by the Spirit?

This would would seem very mileading IMHO.

We could then go all throughout scripture second guessing many people in this case.

Obviously not a salvation issue but a very important thing to think about.

I can't say I claim to understand how the rulers of the ancient world thought about things. Pharaoh in the story of Exodus seems to get it at certain points (Exodus 9:27-28; 10:16-17); his change of heart doesn't last, though.

Nebuchadnezzar doesn't seem to learn either. Daniel interprets his dreams the first time, in Daniel 2, when no one else could. But in Daniel 4, Nebuchadnezzar has another dream, and again he consults everyone else, only coming to Daniel last. It's very odd.

I would like to be able to say Daniel 4:34-37 is the end of his story; he finally understands.

It's like he's giving his testimony to everyone.
