I'm back!

Acts 5:41

It's been a while, old timers will remember me.

My husband got run over by a pickup truck while walking to work back in 2003. He had an extremely severe head injury but made a good recovery (at the time, we thought). What the trauma center doesn't tell you a severe head injury like his makes you 5x more likely to get Alzheimer's.

Anyway he had a drinking issue which got worse and worse not much fun to be married to him. His back was very bad and he had ongoing pain issues from the accident (who wouldn't?) and the doctors would not give him pain medication as he refused to stop drinking. He developed seizures and high blood pressure and would take his medication with a couple of chugs of vodka then lie down again. He was extremely verbally abusive and I learned to get out of the way when he drank, which was daily.

He did go back to work and was able to do a lot for about 15 years but between his back, the drinking, etc. he retired in 2020 right before COVID. He developed Alzheimer's and was very private about that. I cared for him at home until I found him dead of a heart attack two years ago. He was saved so I know I will see him again.

When he was in ICU after the accident I realized I was the only family member (in the waiting room) who had a Bible and the comfort that comes from knowing Jesus. I secretly began bringing Bibles and leaving them during "lunch hour" when they would kick out the family so they could clean. That mushroomed over the years to me standing out on random corners in bad neighborhoods with a "Free Bibles' sign after God gave me a vision to do it in 2010. I have handed out many, many, Bibles. I stopped when Ron got really bad but picked it up again this year and have been diligent.

That's it! Good to be back!

Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your husband.

I remember you from your bible handout ministry, especially to gang members.

Hi, Heather :smile

You and Ron have surely been a huge blessing to many.

21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Matthew 25:21, KJV

Yes Ron was blind. It was interesting because as the Alzheimer's progressed he became sweeter and sweeter. One day he snapped at me and then cried because he felt bad about it. That was totally new to me.
The day he died they were working on him or half an hour and I kept hearing the flatline. I told them to stop as Ron had asked me to make them if/when this happened. They did not want to but I was adamant.
COVID killed our vending business even before that; the blind vendors fired me 2 days after he died. I work at Walmart now they treat me OK. I am glad to be back at it for the Handouts. I am not looking for a relationship I have 3 cats for that. :catball
