How is the weather in your area NOW??

Very toasty day outside today but there is a nice, gusty wind that makes it truly wonderful. It is 29C (85F) with very little humidity. There is a definite smokey haze to the air and every once in awhile you get the definite scent of smoke. I don't think any of the fires are anywhere close to us but it's starting to become a dry spring. Everything is very green but our ditches are empty and the ground at the bottom is cracking a bit. I'm not worried yet but we will see what the coming weeks bring.

We've been getting the edges of some thunderstorms the past two days. I've been hearing about tornado warnings to the north of us but none of that has gotten close to us at all. Our generator is set up and ready to go in case of any power outages. The power did go out for a few seconds today. There are thunderstorms in the forecast all this week. We'll see how many of those actually reach us. It's not uncommon for us to watch storms pass by. Even our year of drought and bad fires about 10 years ago I saw many, many storms go by. The rest of the province had a banner year for their crops. It was just our little area that didn't.

60sF, muggy, and clear.

We didn't get the severe thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon. No rain at all. But I could hear the thunder and see the edge of the clouds to the south of us. NWS says a 40 percent possibility of rain overnight, so hopefully we'll get some.

However, unfortunately, not much breeze at all, and the way the smoke traveled low and not rising from the charc, il looks like a temperature inversion, so we probably won't get any rain tonight, either (hope I'm wrong).

Yeah, we had hardly any wind. We can get crazy winds on a sunny day (which is something I had to get used to moving out to the prairies) but this 'storm' barely rustled the leaves. Our back patio was still dry where it sat underneath the nearby tree branch. It was weird. Yet, not even 2 hours north of us were getting tornado warnings. I think our area is situated between jet streams the way things brush past us much of the time.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny with 3 more days of thunderstorms to follow. Not really expecting any major if the past two days are any indication. Usually our big storms are preceded by days of high humidity. We've had the heat but not the humidity but maybe other areas around us have. I don't know. I even turned our a/c unit off because I was wearing a hoodie and if you're wearing a hoodie when it's 30C outside then it's too cold.

It's middle of the night and currently 15C (59F). It's supposed to stay in the high 20s and low 30s for the next week. Another weather app is calling for clouds but no storms.
