Pope Francis has advised priests who hear troubled confessions from parishioners to not hesitate to call on the services of an exorcist.

A good confessor has to be very discerning, particularly when he has to deal with “real spiritual disorders”, the 80-year-old pontiff told priests at a Vatican training seminar on the art of hearing believers recount their sins.

Disorders could have their roots in all manner of circumstances, including supernatural ones, he suggested.

In such circumstances the confessor “must not hesitate to refer to exorcists … chosen with great care and prudence”.

I guess calling upon the Lord as we are instructed to do is not good enough

Satan is having a good laugh at these fools because he has control of both teams in the game.

Why not play it up in a couple of higher visibility cases so people continue to believe in the myth of RCC power. He will just kill, lie and destroy a million other lives through the process of propping up a false religious belief.

Wake up foolish catholics, a real Christian cannot be possesed by Satan. Oppression, harassment and trouble of all sorts yes but NO possession. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.

If they could only let go of religion their lives would change. Catholic, do you see how only Christ can do any of the things your church thinks they have the authority to do?

I guess they skipped over the section of Scripture where Jesus himself commanded the demons.... Matthew 8:28 (KJV)

28And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? 30And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. 31So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. 32And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. 33And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. 34And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
