Gospel Message for Sign

This is just an idea, see how God leads you. :) In line with what Mikhen7 was saying, a passage that speaks of an open invitation to those who already know they are imperfect and not right with God can be a great draw. You might preface the passage with something like

"I have known the love of Christ:

For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:17"

It's more of a giving your own testimony rather than 'telling people what to do'. It's an approach that gives people room to consider for themselves if they would like to have Christ in their lives rather than putting up an automatic defense.

Of course follow as the Lord leads you, He can use any part of His Word for His purposes. The above is just an idea. :)

I love this idea. The problem is it has to be short and sweet because it's a poster board and mean to be seen by passing cars. I wouldn't have the room to put all of that without it being too small. I hope that makes sense.

Matthew6:33

Withstand in the evil day. Eph 6:13
The following verses are my signature in my emails. I like them because they are less common but hit home hard. I know it is a lot for a sign but maybe it will help you with some ideas. God will use His word to draw those He has called regardless! Amen!

(4) God wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. (5) For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity--the man Christ Jesus. (6) He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. [1 Timothy 2:4-6]

I also love:

10 Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead. 11 For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.' 12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." [Act 4:10-12]

You could ad lib it for the sign:

"There is salvation in no other name - Jesus Christ" (Acts 4)

Matthew6:33

Withstand in the evil day. Eph 6:13
I also like to use that when people blaspheme Christ. It's interesting because most of the time people will not even notice when you follow up with it. The ones who do notice may have a seed planted/watered waiting on God's next move.

I also like to just blurt out praises to Jesus when they blaspheme His name. It's pretty funny because it can get a little awkward sometimes when the spirits at work HATE Jesus getting praise! But I really hate blasphemy and it really irritates me, like nails on a chalkboard. God bless.

I'm going out with my sign that says There is Salvation in no other name-Jesus (Acts 4). Please pray for me and my friend, Sandy. I pray that God would keep us safe and give us love, wisdom, and patience towards any mockers we may face. I pray that someone's heart will be softened towards Jesus Christ and that many will be saved.

My friend and I were out there on the sidewalk of a main road. We got a few waves, honks. Only once person screamed out F you while flipping us off. I was praying to myself that God would provide the increase of the seed we were planting. There were so many faces that I noticed who seemed unhappy in general. It was sad to see and I just kept thinking of what the Apostles and Jesus must have faced. This was nothing compared to that, but I kept think what God must be thinking. So many turn away from him. My friend, Sandy, held a sign that said Jesus Loves You and she still got the F you yelled at her.

She's told me she's had that reaction a few times in the past. It boggles my mind that hearing Jesus Loves You would upset someone. It goes to show you that it doesn't matter how lighthearted the message, lost people hate Jesus. It was wonderful to be serving the Lord and sharing a message that many may not know or think about. I just pray that the Lord would use the message to drawn many to him.

We plan on going back out every Friday, Lord Willing. We're thinking of adding a sign that says Peace With Jesus.

I have prayed for God to show you fruit from your labor. God bless you both for being faithful to the call He placed on your heart.

Back in the 80's (way back) I worked at this printing shop where the Lord placed a strong call on my heart to be a strong witness for him. I used many different ways to witness to my co-workers, including Scripture verses posted in my personal work space. Yes there was persecution and I was sent home from work a couple of times without pay for refusing to print some anti-christian literature. But I prayed a lot for the 17 people I worked with in the hope that some would come to Christ. I was able to reach one person and was blessed to have a brother to fellowship with. But mostly, no fruit.

As it often goes, I moved on in life, continuing to be the witness God asked of me. One day I got a call from my friend and former co-worker who wanted to relay to me that things had changed at the shop. He said, nearly everyone was now attending a church somewhere in the city. Wow! Sometimes fruit is not seen till it matures, sometime later. I pray you all will get to see that blessing.

You are right! These encouraging scriptures came to mind when I read your post!

[John 15:18-23 NLT] (18) "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. (19) The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. (20) Do you remember what I told you? 'A slave is not greater than the master.' Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you. (21) They will do all this to you because of me, for they have rejected the one who sent me. (22) They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. (23) Anyone who hates me also hates my Father.

[Acts 5:40-41 NLT] (40) The others accepted his advice. They called in the apostles and had them flogged. Then they ordered them never again to speak in the name of Jesus, and they let them go. (41) The apostles left the high council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer disgrace for the name of Jesus.

Amen!

AMEN! I thought of that the entire time. I thought on how Jesus and the Apostles suffered. I thought about all our brothers and sisters suffering persecution right now. I pray the Lord prepares me for more persecution. Getting the swears was encouraging because it reminded me we were doing something right with our signs. We were smiling and waving, so it was the message that got that reaction.

Take the old sandwich board approach:

I’m a fool for JESUS, who’s fool are you?

I LOVE it! I'm going to tell my friend this one. She'll love it too. We're planning to go out tomorrow again, with a new convert on fire for the Lord. She'll be bringing a microphone to share the Gospel on the sidewalk next to a local CVS parking lot. We may have to move it to next week depending on the weather. I hope they will still want to meet regardless. We'll see. All in the Lord's hands!
