The crowd sourced GoFundMe platform said Saturday it will automatically refund what is left of the estimated $10 million raised for the Canadian trucker convoy protesting COVID-19 vaccine mandates after Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and others threatened a fraud investigation into the operation.

"The update we issued earlier enabled all donors to get a refund and outlined a plan to distribute remaining funds to verified charities selected by the Freedom Convoy organizers. However, due to donor feedback, we are simplifying the process and automatically refunding donations," the organization posted to Twitter early Saturday.

"To simplify the process for our users, we will be refunding all donations to the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser. This refund will happen automatically—you do not need to submit a request. Donors can expect to see refunds within 7-10 business days."


The organization paused the distribution of some $10 million raised through donations on the site for the Canadian "Freedom Convoy," an ongoing protest of more than 50,000 truckers, according to the New York Post.

DeSantis joined others in calling out the platform for "fraud" by not allowing protest organizers to withdraw the money.

"It is a fraud for @gofundme to commandeer $9M in donations sent to support truckers and give it to causes of their own choosing," De Santis said in a post on Twitter Saturday.

"I will work with @AGAshleyMoody to investigate these deceptive practices — these donors should be given a refund."....

I would never use GoFundMe. The Canadian Trucker Freedom Fund is now being administered by GiveSendGo which is owned and run by Christians. It is being constantly besieged by DDOS attacks but it is holding its own.

The liberal bigots that commit these frauds and other criminal offenses never face any serious consequences for their crimes; that's why they keep doing these things.

I would think that the donors could file a class action suit (though I'm not a lawyer so I'm just assuming). Giving the money back to the donors I suppose is the right thing to do now, but there was a contract between GoFundMe and the donors that the money would be sent to the recipient the donors wanted it sent to, in a timely manner, and that contract was not fulfilled. There was damage in the form of the money not getting to those who needed it in a timely manner. And what makes it worse is that the breach of contract was done purely out of bigotry.

But Rumble has come to the rescue of GSG and has put their engineers and programmers on the job to help GSG fend off the attacks and to straighten out the traffic snarl. Rumble is much larger than GSG and has the resources to help. Rumble is the conservative alternative to Y**T***. Dan Bongino (a former Secret Service agent and who now is the host of the Dan Bongino show) is one of the principle investors in Rumble--a moral and principled man who regularly gives testimony about his faith in Christ. He has done a lot to expose corruption in politics.

Don't listen to a single word mainstream media is saying about the truckers and the protest. It is all completely fabricated. I personally know some of the truckers who are there. I have watched plenty of live feeds. All decent Canadians support this movement. It's not the fringe whatsoever.

I hope this just ends people using GoFundMe. They have pulled these stunts on other freedom and non-leftie movements before. I don't want to refer to the trucker thing as "right wing" because it transcends political alliance. I saw interviews with protestors who had said they'd gone to BLM protests and they support this too. Anyways, I didn't trust GoFundMe to do the right thing so now I'm glad everybody finally sees them for who they are.

And I hope this opens peoples' eyes to seeing the true dangers of digitizing all of our finances. They can turn us off whenever they want.

I just saw a video of a pastor sharing the gospel with a man who said he thought all religions had the same God. It was a lovely chat and the man let the pastor pray with him. I saw another pastor say he had witnessed several protestors be brought to Christ. There are all faiths being represented there but any chance people can come to know Jesus is the real victory. I watched one video of a group of protestors singing hymns with the Parliament Buildings behind them. I admit to tearing up over that!

I am stressing very much about how awful our government is treating the entire movement and refusing to relinquish control. It feels like we're losing. And I had to go to the hospital today (I'm OK!) and hearing people there bashing the truckers made me feel small. I kept my trap shut as it just wasn't worth getting into there. Our pastor's wife had said at one point she is praying that Jesus returns soon because it just seems like what we're up against is so huge. She's American so it's been nice getting her perspective on things because I think Canadian Believers are often too afraid to stick their necks out. She's been impressed with Canadians finally taking a stand.

While listening to the radio this morning, the person I was listening to said that anybody caught in the area of the trucks with petrol or food or any other kind of support were being arrested. I guess the Canadian govmint is not a govmint by and for the people. Neither is the US govmint anymore... As the world makes its way to what will eventually be the antichrist govmint system, I imagine that govmints will be increasingly heavy handed towards the population that it should be serving.
