Evil in the Life of a Believer

We know that in this world, Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” My world was turned upside down this week My story involves a heartbreaking event that happened this week. I know that I’m not alone, as we battle daily with the enemy, Satan. And I know that the closer we get to the Lord, we are attacked more frequently. There are some attacks that bring us to our knees. Such is mine. I know that my Father loves me and allows things like this to happen, to mold us and shape us. This time, I just don’t understand why. And when I get to heaven, I will try to ask why, if I can get over just being in His presence!

Just this past Monday, 5/1/23, I lost my best friend and companion, Gus. And I know that some will say, “he was just a dog.” Let me tell you, they become like children to you, especially when you have raised your children and you are alone, a lot.

We live next to an empty pasture, and I started searching for him there, where the grass is so tall that I could see he was either chasing a rabbit, or maybe a rat, because he had made all kinds of impressions in the grass where he was chasing his next victim. I kept using the beeper on his remote collar and it was definitely working, but as stubborn and fixated as he was on his prey, he ignored me. I walked that entire pasture, following his trails in the grass; no luck.

I had just decided that I would get in my car and drive up the road to use the beeper there when I saw two ladies, just kitty-corner to our house, talking outside. I stopped, thinking they might have seen him, and one of them said, “I’m so sorry to tell you that someone hit him and he’s gone.” She also told me that the driver had plenty of room to miss him, but they were either on their dang phone, or they just didn’t care.

What heartless jerk would go out of their way to hit a dog?….. Any dog, cat or other critter? Let alone use their STUPID cell phone while driving……yes, all the time, we all see you on your dang phone, even on the Interstate, using it because it just can’t wait until you get somewhere to talk. Then there are those who think that they are so dang important that they’ve got to be on that dang phone, just because they can!

My dear friend, neighbor and sister in Christ held me as I fell apart. My DH came home from work to take over the hot mess I turned into. My entire family have been comforting and saddened because they all were around when he first came to be ours. I asked, ”Why Lord?”

I am devastated! .I keep thinking that I need to take Gus outside, or I need to get him his treat because it’s either time for Bible Study, or it’s bedtime………and he’s not here. My DD said this, “Mom, he was doing what he loved to do…he loved to hunt! And thankfully, he was gone in an instant.” That has made the most sense, if there is any sense at all in this.

I believe that when we get to heaven, we will see all of our beloved fur babies. Don’t you cringe at that term like my 21-year old!

I tried to add some pics of him, but I couldn’t so I changed avatar.

RIP my beloved Gus!

I understand how you :cry feel I have lost several cats. April 29th, 2013 I lost Chunkers 10 years ago, and his birthday was 10 days after mine. I really hope we do get to see our loved animals in heaven. That would be a desire of my heart. I am so :cry sorry for your loss. :prayers and :bighug.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Say something Righteous and Wholesome...
I miss my shiba inu too.

May you keep your fond memories and heal from your loss.

He prayeth best, who loveth best
All things both great and small;
For the dear God who loveth us,
He made and loveth all.

Oh my dear sister, I am absolutely gutted for you. My heart is grieving for your loss. My fur and feather babies mean everything to me, and I have lost more than I can count. I wish their was a way I could ease your pain, but I absolutely believe that our babies are now in Heaven and we will see them again. I can't see God letting love just go out. Take comfort in the fact that Gus is now running through the fields of Heaven for the pure joy of it.

I’m so sorry for your loss…it is really hard to lose our fur babies. I still miss my childhood dog, a golden retriever named Kokomo. It was really tough on everyone when he passed.

I believe we will see our believed animals soon. And like us, they won’t be experiencing pain, discomfort, or anything like that.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I lost one dog last year and the other the year before. Just found out my oldest cat who is 14 has kidney failure. He has lost a lot of muscle mass and we are giving him fluids through the neck every other day. It's just a matter of time before I have to deal with this again. :sad

I know the Bible doesn't mention it, but I do believe that we will see out pets again in Heaven. :thumbup

Revelation 5 v 13 Chris says all creation will honour God, kjv depending upon your interpretation of all creation but it is a very interesting verse, have that verse for poppy's remains, my avatar.

I am so sorry for your loss. I do believe we will see them again. We lost our Sasha bug back in July 2020 and it took me over two years to get to the point of wanting another pomeranian. When I got to that thought, I told my wife and the following weekend we picked up Einstein. He's not Sasha bug but he changed the atmosphere in the house for the better. I still miss bug everyday though

I do pray that God comforts you and your family in y'alls time mourning.

Well, I feel like a traitor almost, but DH scoped out a pup, because he can’t stand to see the red hot mess I turned into! We are on the way back home from getting him! I feel better, but I miss Gus still! I envisioned him last night hanging out with the rest of my departed fur kids with them scolding him….”look at what you have done to her! Youve broken her heart!” Then I thought, it doesn’t really matter, because they are all up there at the feet of my Lord!

Not replaced at all!

It is a comforting :D thought to realize that our departed animals are in perfect peace in heaven, and the next time we see them will be :thumbup:thumbup forever. I am glad you are feeling better just hold on to the forever with Gus thought in our eternal life. Have you named your new puppy, and wishing you the best? :bighug
