The European Commission says it is remaining calm amid a threat that Russian natural-gas supplies to the European Union could be disrupted due to a pricing row between the Russian state-run energy giant Gazprom and Belarus.

The Radio Liberty has quoted European Commission spokesman Amadeu Altafaj Tardio as saying that “there is no crisis” yet, and that certain EU member states have more than enough gas stocks to deal with any disruption.

Belarus has threatened to deny Gazprom access to Belarus pipelines for deliveries to Western Europe if Gazprom cuts supplies to Belarus for failing to accept a steep increase in prices from January 1.

After reading the they just shut down 2 of Bulgaria's reactors. I am starting to see the EU create an energy control policy. I can see them using the regulation of energy to maintain control of their citizens.

Well, The Euroczars really have control over most of its so-called citizens through the European Central Bank and the Euro currency. As for the energy issue, the Eurocrats have to worry about just getting energy, never mind the fact that they might want to control their so-called citizens, using energy stocks. What the Europols have to worry about is being controlled by Russia in the strategic area of energy. That control of energy will in turn affect the already waffling Euros in the political arena.
