Elon Musk Will Reportedly Be Implanting Microchips Into Humans As Early As This Year

Leave it to Elon Musk to push the boundaries of technology.

In a recent live-streamed video interview with the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit, billionaire Elon Musk shared what’s to come for Neuralink.

The brain-interface technology company co-founded by Elon Musk in 2016 aims to begin implanting microchips in humans as early as this year. The implant has already been tested on a monkey who was featured playing MindPong.

“We have Neuralink working well in monkeys. We are also doing a lot of testing and confirming that it’s very safe and reliable and that the Neuralink device can be removed safely. People may have seen the demo that we published earlier this year with the video of the monkey playing the video game Pong telepathically using the Neuralink in its brain,” Elon Musk said, according to the Wall Street Journal. “It’s completely wireless, charges inductively, so the monkey looks completely normal and yet is playing a video game telepathically.”

But, exactly why is this happening?

Elon Musk refers to Neuralink’s implant as “profound” as it could possibly provide a solution to help individuals with spinal cord injuries revive their health by obtaining full-body functionality.

“We hope to have this in our first humans — which will be people that have severe spinal-cord injuries like tetraplegics, quadriplegics — next year, pending FDA approval,” Elon Musk said.

He continued: “I think we have a chance of being able to allow someone who cannot walk or use their arms to be able to walk again.”

When is it coming to market?

The implant is currently awaiting approval from the FDA, but Elon Musk is pretty confident the technology will surpass the guidelines required.

According to Business Insider, Elon Musk had originally promised to begin testing the implants on humans by the end of 2021. However, Musk has a history of providing overly optimistic timelines. Only time will tell if this new technology will be available for humans soon.

Will time also tell if this will be good for society?

If it provides help for someone in a wheelchair for life, helping bridge the gaps between a severed spinal column, and their bodies, it will be wonderful.

As a former RN who used to work in a rehab unit (not drugs, but car accident victims, hip replacement, strokes and other brain injuries, plus improving lives for severe arthritics) this would be a Godsend.

If people who were formerly stuck in a wheelchair were walking, breathing easily, able to move their arms and hands, take care of their daily needs themselves, it would be amazing.

I agree, that sounds amazing for a disabled person.

I'm skeptical about it helping people with dementia. I'm in the process of maybe getting something put in about 2/3s of my spine for chronic pain management. I'll have to charge it every day, but I reckon it'll be worth it if it works.

I'm just thinking how this technology will be integrated into Revelation 13's "Mark of the Beast". Perhaps it will be connected to a central A.I. where a key component of the supreme kernel in its operating system causes the unfortunate victim to keep thinking that no one else is divine or worthy of worship other than the Antichrist? We'll see from the vantage point of Heaven someday -- perhaps much sooner than later considering how things are speeding towards that time. I hope we're all seated next to each other at the Marriage Supper.

We cant know what system the beast will use, but IMO, it wont be a system that forces someone to believe in him. No, I believe the dark one will demand of them to believe in him as a god, and do so under their own free will - his ego will demand this, and thrive on this.

I find the Instagram clip more than spooky/creepy that you can be changed physically/internally by RNA/DNA sequencing to become something other than the human you are, stop aging, maybe an attempt to stop death.

Agree Andy, also imo It'll be something That'll show allegiance like some sort of artefact that you carry with you or some sort of tattoo not a microchip or implant that doesn't make sense. Hope I make sense brain gone.

I agree, Andy. No one can force anyone to believe in anything. An old saw illustrates: "A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still." (And I would put the word, convinced in quotation marks.) Freedom is a precious thing conferred on humans from God alone. That is why Satan must use deception to advance his agenda. Jesus, in contrast, said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free."

In the case of Adam and Eve, at no time, did the Serpent/Dragon force them to any belief. He deceived Eve and he inspired Adam to rebellion, but there was never any attempt to force either of them to "believe" anything. Cannot be done. If it was possible, then why would anyone be held accountable for sin? The fact is that we are held accountable for our own sins (which is stressed over and over throughout Scripture) because we failed to believe the truth and confirm that truth with our lives.

I think we should all pray for Elon Musk. He wouldn't be the first Christian who "backed into" faith. C.S. Lewis poked fun at himself in Surprised by Joy, as he described the night of his conversion to belief in Christ: "You must picture me alone in that room at Magdalen, night after night, feeling, whenever my mind lifted even for a second from my work, the steady, unrelenting approach of Him whom I so earnestly desired not to meet. That which I greatly feared had at last come upon me. In the Trinity Term of 1929 I gave in, and admitted that God was God, and knelt and prayed: perhaps, that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England" (Surprised By Joy, chapter 14, p. 266).

It would be wonderful for those needing. What worries me if the device could be hacke.

Now we see through a glass, darkly; (1 Cor 13:12)
Even if such a device proved very helpful for severely disabled people, I still believe that it could - and would - also be used for unprecedented EVIL. Anti-Christ-level evil. The very thought of it absolutely creeps me out…

But isn’t that how the Enemy often works? Taking something that has good aspects to it, or good potential, and entwining his evil purposes around it?
