Elon Musk Claims His Brain Chip Will Cure Depression, Addiction

My guess is the chip can cure you of thoughtcrime too; he just didn't think we are quite prepared to hear that yet.

Those who worship man (and ultimately the god of this world) seem to want us to be ruled by man (and the god of this world). It's no surprise that new technology would be used in pursuit of that purpose.

I don't know if this chip is necessarily the mark of the beast, though it certainly could be. I think that will more likely be a chip implanted that's used for electronic money transfers, and you will not be able to buy or sell anything without the chip. But they could just use one chip to serve all of those purposes I suppose.

What this story tells us for certain is that implanted chips that can alter thought and behavior are a coming thing. And those of us here know that we were warned.

What if people get brain implants and an enemy uses an EMP pulse? Wouldn't that fry your brain?
It is truly fascinating how predictive programming has prepared people for easy fixes (The Matrix film comes to mind - instant knowledge, just by linking up to a system).

You'd just need to wear a faraday helmet at all times... no big deal... :eek

The deprogramming was part of what I was trying to say.

Even now, without the chip, there are some secular and very liberal Christian licensed mental health providers that will label a conservative Christian delusional, etc. for clinging to traditional/creationist beliefs, or at the vey least, ridicule them. The way the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) is written, definitions and diagnostic criteria can be "used" to diagnose mental illness/disorder/etc. on the basis of Christian faith :mad Especially if one refuses to deny his/her faith.

I agree about the wild rantings of someone with a god complex (potentially) indicating demon possession . . .

Wow!! I had no idea!! That's twisted and very biased!

I've always found it interesting (I suppose that's the word) how these studied men and women can't feel the weight of their self-defeating worldview crushing them. " We are all genetically determined to the point that we have no free will. But let me tell you how right that I am! "

Determinism- NOUN
Philosophy : the belief that all events are caused by things that happened before them and that people have no real ability to make choices or control what happens.

I once heard R. Zacharias ingeniously comment on this. If we are all genetically determined (Determinism), we have no free-will/morality, everything we do/think/say is because of a chemical/electrical reaction.

How can we make a claim that something is true, violating determinism?

In other words, how can we claim something is absolutely true if we are just pre-wired to be a certain way? :confused :diablo

This is right. It's an intellectually bankrupt philosophy, if you can call it that. It's a non-starter, yet propped up as if it is the philosophy in which our white coats have finally arrived. It's amusing and frustrating at the same time.
