“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has revealed the fascinating moment he shared the gospel with President Donald Trump, proclaiming that he believes the commander-in-chief has personally embraced the gospel.

Robertson told the “Edifi With Billy Hallowell” podcast that he first met Trump during a pre-election get together in 2016. The two only had a few minutes together, but Robertson made the most of it, using the time to share the gospel with Trump.

Listen to “Edifi With Billy Hallowell” — the official podcast of Edifi, a new Christian podcast app that aggregates the best faith-inspiring Christian podcasts across a variety of subjects — to hear Robertson reveal how he shared the gospel with the president:

“I reached in my pocket and I pulled out a diagram of the gospel, an arrow coming down out of heaven — God becoming flesh — the cross, the tomb, and an arrow coming out of the tomb and the last arrow coming back down to earth,” Robertson explained. “I said, ‘Whatever happens, Trump, don’t miss this.”

Trump asked for an explanation of the image and that’s when Robertson told him that Jesus died for his sins, explaining that Jesus came to Earth to redeem mankind.

Robertson believes the message had an impact, because Trump asked if he could keep the diagram. The two later talked again and Robertson again shared some important scriptures.

“I’m convinced he’s put his faith in Jesus and I’m convinced he’s a brother,” Robertson said, adding that the president is a work in progress.

Robertson also talked about the positive influence of his “Unashamed” podcast and his TV show “Phil in the Woods.”

“All we’re doing is we’re reaching out to our neighbor, and we’re telling them to love their God, repent and turn to God, walk like Jesus did,” he said. “Love God and love your neighbor … I do not see the downside to that.”

I also believe that he is a Christian (But only He knows who is saved) . Is he always the best example, the shinning light for all to see? No. However, who among us would be that shinning light if every word you said was recorded, every movement outside your home was recorded, and half the country to include 90 percent of the media was constantly slamming or insulting you?

Yes I believe President Trump is a babe in Christ , and as Phil Robertson stated it , 'a brother ' , amen!

No one is to good to get saved.
No one is to bad to get saved.
Jesus Christ died for all.
I have noticed a difference in him.
He is not the same man that walked in the Whitehouse years ago.

I'm not to surprised by what I believe concerning President Trump and him receiving Christ.
Melania Trump is the first Catholic First Lady.
I bet they have some interesting conversations, especially lately.
I definitely need to pray for her more. I do pray for her , but not in a direct manner as I now am prompted to do.

That made me think that it isn't always a burden to know what you need to do.
Most of the time it is a relief.
Not knowing what to do whether we would like it or not is worse than knowing what to do.
I believe it is a liberty not to be taken advantage of.

Jackie Kennedy Onassis may be the 1st Catholic First Lady. I haven't checked up on all the First Ladies denominations so someone else could have been. I do know that Jackie was before Melania.

You are right. I forgot about that. I think there was some controversy about her and the RCC over her second marriage but that wouldn't detract from when she was in the White House prior.
So yes , Melania would be the only other Catholic First Lady.
Maybe Melania will be the first full term First Lady. I say maybe because we don't know what could happen between now and President Trumps full term completion.

I :pray Melania gets saved, and gets out of the RCC denomination. I even read that she took her rosary beads to the pope. I would assume for him to bless them. There still could have been other first ladies who were Catholic. We don't know for a fact without doing research.

I enjoy listening to Phil speak. He knows his bible. His speech is slow in delivery, and has the southern accent. He has his Masters degree, and in college, was the starting quarterback on the same team that backup quarterback (Terry Bradshaw was on).

I know Phil took great advantage of the limited time he had in talking with Trump. Phil does not strike me as the type who is fond of casual small talk.

FWIW, Melania was the second Catholic First Lady. Jackie Kennedy was the first.

I was just reading that Phil Robertson is a member of the Church of Christ where they believe baptism is necessary for salvation. That his show has shown him gambling, making alcoholic drinks even calling their own brand "Christian Alcohol". I have never seen the show so I hope this is all error. If it isn't, I'm extremely concerned he would be seen favorably on here.

I'm reading an excellent book called Calling Evil Good: The Lie of "Christian" Rock and Roll by Spencer Smith. I highly recommend it. It's sad that the church has become so worldly here in the USA and it is no surprise our country has fallen so far. The Church has been letting the world influence it rather than the reverse through compromise over the years.

From what I understand Phil was a heavy drinker before He was saved. I personally respect him and have listened to many of his podcasts where he preaches the word with power and grace. He has a heart for the lost and points all of his teachings to Jesus.

We all have struggles and the bible says none of us are perfect. We could find something wrong with any person, let alone Christian, including myself.

In this fallen world, there is no such thing as perfection. Phil's doctrine is not one that I'm worried about.

If he believes Baptism is essential for salvation then I would be highly worried. That is not the Gospel and is error.

It's own thing to recognize none of us are perfect but it's another to then excuse unholiness as a result. Where is the line drawn and should we not seek holiness? Having a TV show where unholiness is given a pass is an issue if those things that I listed are true. I don't watch the show so I don't know.

I've never heard him say this. I have heard him say that Jesus is the only way to salvation many times. Its one thing to say that you should be baptised. Its another thing to say you need to be baptised to be saved.

Forgive me if I seem irritable, I just tire of the countless 'truth ministries' (I am not saying you are part of these either) that seem to nit-pick at anyone actually doing something in the Lord.

Phil is a long-time member of a Church of Christ fellowship. One of that denominations distinctives is baptismal regeneration-- the idea that you are actually born again in baptism not by calling upon Christ. I had a COC pastor tell me that is someone came to church, heard a sermon, immediately was convicted and gave their heart to Christ but had a heart attack and died on their way from their pew to the baptismal tank, they would go to Hell. I don't know whether Phil himself believes in this doctrine, but his denominator does.
