Colorado supermarket employee fired after filming shoplifters on Father’s Day
Santino Burrola said the store's policy of non-confrontation prevented him from physically engaging with the shoplifters

A King Soopers employee in Colorado was fired after he filmed three men stealing $500 worth of laundry detergent. Santino Burrola, a former military police officer, filmed the three shoplifters stealing the items on Father’s Day June 18 around 6:40 p.m. The video shows three men in a parking lot hastily transferring laundry detergent into a vehicle. Burrola approaches the vehicle with his phone recording, playfully taunting the thieves. "Look at them stealing," he says off-camera. "Really bro? You gotta resort to this? Economy’s not that bad."

Makes absolutely no sense to fire him. Those people loading up their car with stolen goods should have their pictures splashed across the state. I bet all of them have jobs and their employers need to see the kind of employees they have.

Never did I think I would see the day where the good guy loses.

It must be hard to be a security guard and have to watch people brazenly steal.
We have had articles on here about stores In NY and maybe California that have had to close due to thievery.

Even in these times, what do people need with $500 of washing powder????

I hate that the man lost his job.

Were you allowed to catch the bad guys?
I was a guard for the MBL/IBM building which was Mutual Benefit Life insurance, and IBM stands for International Business Machines. I watched a few cameras, and people who came in the building. I also was information for people who was looking for businesses in our building. I was fortunate enough to not have the problems of stealing when I was there. We had someone throw a cigarette butt in a trash can, a bomb scare, and a false fire alarm. Our building was across the street from the Union Station.
