China’s Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng summoned US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns early Wednesday morning to protest House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. China accused Pelosi of creating a provocation and violating the one-China principle. In response, China vowed a military response to Pelosi's visit to Taiwan. China's government warned it would take "targeted military operations" after Pelosi defied its threats and visited Taiwan on Tuesday.
