Can you give the plan of salvation in 25 words or less?

This is an assignment I gave my Bible study group. I've been encouraging people that, in these last days, we not only need to active in sharing our faith but in so doing, we must be able to state our faith clearly. In the past, all of you have been very helpful in helping me to give examples or thoughts on various biblical passages. When I ask such things, it's usually not for myself but for the class. Anyway, how about this? If a person asks you how to be saved, can you tell them? In 25 words or less? Clearly, without using Christian-speak, that is, phrases that would be unknown to an unbeliever? I working on it too. It's hard, especially the 25 word part.

Here's a try, but lacking in detail -- the 25 words is really tough! I'll be interested to see what people come up with!

All people are separated from God by sin. God fixed that through Jesus. Only way is to believe and accept His gift we can't earn.

Here are some of the ones that those in the Bible Study submitted.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.

We are all sinners, separated from a Holy God. God loved us so much He left heaven and took all our punishment on Himself.

I am a sinner.
God put my sin on His Son.
His Son bore my punishment.
I now am wholly acceptable in His sight.

The point of this exercise was twofold...one, to clarify in our own minds what the plan of salvation is without resorting to catch-phrases. Second, to show how easy it is to share the gospel in so few words and so to the point. Admittedly, it's important to mention repentance and baptism and walking in faith and prayer but sometimes we just don't have the time or the opportunity. Thanks, again. I'm using all of these in my class.

That is how Romans 10:9 reads in the Holman Christian Standard Bible and in the Christian Standard Bible. I had to look at many versions because almost all of them have 26 or more words for this verse.:book

Great topic Ronjohn

I put the gospel message on a small business card size format on my computer and then upload it onto a usb drive, so that I could go to Office Depot or Staples and have them mass produced as business card tracts. I carry them in my wallet and cell phone case, they are very easy to hand out and I wrap a dollar around some so that I can give it to those who ask me for money...in one way they get more than what they asked for, but maybe in another way they did not get as much as they hoped for. :heh
On one side of the card is the gospel message and on the other is the sinners prayer. The print size is very readable on both sides. I had to determine what to include and what was not as important because of limited space and the need to be readable.

These are good! My latest idea is I want to make up some cards or small folders to print at home. Leave them in the grocery store.

Been thinking about the pickle section, title that one something like "the real pickle we're all in is sin". Then give the solution.

In the water and juice isle, something about the water of life.

In the bread aisle, about the bread of life, or not living by bread alone.

In the soap area, sins washed white as snow.

Amidst the onions in produce, every tear will be wiped away...

Thoughts?

The store(s) might not appreciate it, but I like the idea.
