California policymakers who make up the “Future of Abortion Council” just dropped a bombshell. They intend to not only codify the killing of unborn children throughout all nine months of pregnancy but to decriminalize killing newborns days or even weeks after birth.

New language added to AB 2223 last week revealed the disturbing intent. The proposed legislation would shield a mother from civil and criminal charges for any “actions or omissions” related to her pregnancy, “including miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion, or perinatal death.” Although definitions of “perinatal death” vary, all of them include the demise of newborns seven days or more after birth.

The bill from Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks additionally protects anyone who “aids or assists a pregnant person in exercising” these rights. It also allows a woman to sue any police department or legal authority which arrests or charges her for hurting or killing her child under provisions of the bill.

The following legal experts, all based in California, asserted that AB 2223 would essentially legalize infanticide:

I thought the rumour was about Maryland? This just seems so over-the-top that I am having a hard time believing it's real. Abandoning unwanted babies is a tale as old as time itself but this seems a leap for the average, typical American of any stripe to accept. Newborns are very fragile and often the mother is physically out of sorts too so sometimes horrible accidents happen. I remember being in constant terror of doing something stupid in my sleep-deprived, post partum depression state. Maybe they mean to take some of the assumptions of guilt off in cases such as that?

This isn't new. The Governor of Virginia did the same thing in 2019.

That is of the highest priority cause its getting very late, the collapse and the GREAT RESET are going to trigger the globe all at the same time ...Covid triggered the planet but what do you think a global economic collapse will look like when toilet paper runs are replaced by desperation to have ANYTHING?

Blatanly, without a single ounce of fear of the ONE who "fearfully and wonderfully made" lives that you are choosing to FREELY kill, it would be better for you if a millstone was hung around your neck and you were tossed into the ocean than what your going to reap.

What a fear filled thing it shall be to fall into the hands of an Angry God!!!

I think the original post is FUD.

Having read the bill, abortions in California would still be unauthorized, among other scenarios, if the fetus is viable. Nobody is proposing terminating birthed children legally. The bill verbiage uses the word “perinatal” as a catch-all for situations with a fetus after 20 weeks of gestation that didn’t fit into miscarriage, stillborn or aborted. While technically perinatal can mean a period after birth, the rest of the bill is clear that is not an authorized procedure because the fetus would be viable.

The AB2233 bill is an already existing bill that the assembly woman Buffy Wicks proposed an amendment to which changes the law in the case which the pregnant woman or anyone assisting in an abortion will be protected from civil lawsuits or criminal charges being brought up against them for terminating the life of the baby, unborn or after birth up to 28 days. The terminology or wording of the definition of termination of the baby used in the bill, or abortion, is broad and opens the door to infanticide. This a similar bill as the one that came under fire in 2019 in Virginia when the governor at that time, Ralph Northam, described in regards to a , "botched" abortion where the baby was viable, would allow for a "conversation between the mother and the doctor" as to what to do of the baby was alive after a botched abortion. This is not a misunderstanding of the intent of the proposal by Assembly Woman Buffy Wicks. This Liberal majority Legislation Assembly and the current governor have no regard for life. They made California a sanctuary state for anyone seeking abortions,
even across state lines covering abortions for other state residents, and more recently approved a bill to make abortions free to anyone whether California residents or residents of other states. They are pure evil, murdering babies in the name of a "woman's reproductive health rights". At this point this is only a proposed amendment to the bill.
Prayers need to stop this amendment from passing and signed by the governor, and prayers lifted up for these innocent lives that don't matter to these demon driven lawless lawmakers.

Following suit from Maryland attempt? This is obscene! How can anyone think that this is right? I pray that this doesn’t live to see the light of day and that the Lord frustrates anything Buffy Wicks tries to pull on these precious ones. God won’t forget about this, although I don’t think they care.

It's ironic that this same amendment is claimed by abortion supporters to be the part of the Constitution that makes laws against abortion illegal.

By my reading of this law, the state can not pick a certain class of citizen and say it's ok to kill that person (except of course in a case of self defense). This makes abortion at any stage illegal, if the unborn (or in this case recently born) baby is defined as a person. So this is the essential part of this debate: is the baby a living human being, or just a lump of lifeless or inhuman cells. Many of us have known for a long time that the unborn baby is a living human being, from the point of conception on, and since the passage of Roe v Wade science has provided plenty of proof that we were right.

Liberals are always using the slogan the science as though science supports their agenda, and they use the slogan science deniers to refer to those who believe that the Bible is the word of God. This of course is just another among a mass of lies, as well as the tactic of projection liberal liars have been programmed to use. In the case of abortion especially, true science makes clear that the unborn baby is alive and human, by any realistic definition of those two words, making it a living human being.

In a case like this though, where they say it's ok to kill a baby even after it's been born, there was never any debate. But things like partial birth abortion made clear that it didn't matter to them that the baby was a living human being. I used to joke about how the so-called right to abortion should be expanded to include not only unborn babies, but also misbehaving teenagers. This was dark humor intended to point to the absurdity of abortion being legal, since it could be claimed that the misbehaving teenager is not really a human being.

But never in my wildest dreams did I think they would ever actually say it's ok to kill a baby even after it was born. I should have expected it though, because every immoral act liberals embrace is always expanded, so why should the murder of babies be any different?

These devil worshippers have the blood of 60 million unborn babies on their hands. They try to justify it by claiming that in their opinion the unborn baby is not really a human being. They think this is some slick excuse they dreamed up but it's actually an old technique used by murderers so far back it can be called the oldest trick in the book: it's called dehumanizing your victim. If they can do that with partially born and even recently born babies, they can do it with any group of people they want to kill. The National Socialists of Germany made clear just how far people who use this lie can go.

And think about this: they don't even hate babies; the babies are just in the way of the feminist agenda. So what do you think these devil worshippers will do to those they really do hate, those their high seer Hillary called "deplorable," once they get the absolute power they week? A century of communism, with a hundred million dead in its path, answers that question all too well.

And as Christians, who stand up and say that the Bible is the word of God and it does mean what its words say it means, we are at the top of their hate list. This should be no surprise, given the master they serve. And it should likewise be no surprise when their hate becomes action, given how bloodthirsty their rabid support of abortion shows them to be.

They'll claim a baby isn't a person until a certain age... :( Depending on the make-up of the Supreme Court, a decision could go either way in this insane world we live in.
