I just figured you were making a play on words, saying giblets are awful.I love giblets, or offal, but I usually just call it chicken guts.
You mean you've never had giblet gravy for Thanksgiving?
Tried something different this evening. I actually cooked something. I went out to get some milk and saw this bag of navy beans. So I got home and started boiling the beans around 5:30PM. Slow boil til 6:30. Then threw in 1/2 a can of Spam. So ended up with a 4 quart pot of bean soup.
I know Spam is not Ham. And I didn't put in any onions. But it was still a nice change from chicken and mashed potatoes.

My grandmothers & mom would boil that little baggie of "extras" included in the turkey (that awful offal), chop it up and add it to the Thanksgiving gravy.
It's actually pretty good in there.
We're in Williamsburg today. Had lunch at this neat little place called Old Chickhominy House - and we both had soup (I got chicken & rice and John had Brunswick stew) which came with flat biscuits (delicious!), and sweet iced tea. Then we spent the afternoon visiting Jamestown Settlement.
Tonight we were still full from lunch & afternoon snacks so went to Panera and split a 'You Pick Two' - John had the Fuji apple salad with a bagel and I had half a Mediterranean veggie sandwich and got one of their iced pumpkin cookies to eat over the next couple days.
