US President Joe Biden told CNN in an exclusive interview on Tuesday he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “rational actor” who nonetheless badly misjudged his ability to invade Ukraine and suppress its people. “I think he is a rational actor who has miscalculated significantly,” Biden told Jake Tapper in the interview.

Biden, who warned last week the risk of “nuclear Armageddon” was at its highest level in 60 years, said in the interview that threats emanating from Russia could result in catastrophic “mistakes” and “miscalculation,” even as he declined to spell out how precisely the United States would respond if Putin deploys a tactical nuclear device on the battlefield in Ukraine.

Senility speaks again! and calls Putin's invasion a miscalculation!

Putin is rational at times but he is driven by an over arching desire to return Russia to it's former glories under the Tsars, with him as Tsar of course. Regaining all the lost territories. That is what drives Putin. Not sure that qualifies as rational.

I’ve been saying for a long time that Putin’s goal is to “put the band back together” that is, reconstitute the old USSR with him as head of it. As far as him using nukes on Ukraine I think he will do it and probably in a strategic manner to bring them back into the fold and as an object lesson to the other territories he wants to reunite. What he needs to keep in mind is to make sure his legislative body in Russia is weak otherwise he will end up in the same boat as Nikita Khrushchev who was clearly overthrown in 1964 and became persona non grata. Also, Biden needs to keep in mind that he is no Kennedy or Reagan and doesn’t have the strength or mental agility to go toe to toe with Putin.

Not sure Biden is keeping ANYTHING in his mind as of late. He is and was a nasty man but I do pity him as he is clearly going senile and the people propping him up in his position are evil for doing that to him.

It kind of seems that the elites who like using the FEAR of nuclear war were realizing that it was getting too close to actually happening so are hoping to dial it down a tad to a place where they feel like they can control it again. All these pundits, elites and leaders are playing with hot water as they think they are more in control than they actually are and we regular people pay the price for their tactical arrogance.
