Who was the first person in the New Testament sent by the Lord to evangelize among Gentiles?

I'll take a shot at it, though this one was tricky for me. A few came to mind but the "sent by the Lord" part eliminated my first choice so I'm going with Philip Acts 8:26.

Isn't Philip the first (only?) specifically called an evangelist? Acts 21:8

Good try, bro. But no.

Don't get hung up on the title evangelist or the verb evangelize. The act is what is important: telling people about Jesus and what He did. Who was the first person sent by the Lord to do this in the NT?

O.k, I'll go with my first thought and what I randomly opened my bible to this morning and re-read.

The Samaritan woman John 4:28, John 4:39.
Now that I typed that out, it doesn't sound right either. I won't even go into why I thought this.

Edit- I see I'm not alone SonSeeker LOL

I decided to 'phone a friend', he says Peter.

Although he says that was too easy.

He questions, "Who made the first fish taco in Scripture?"

Just happened across this while studying...

After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. (Acts 15:7)

Turning theory into evidence.

My guess all the 11 Apostles are commissioned in acts 1:
8 But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
