And They Cursed God
By Grant Phillips

Looking at the faces of those protesting outside the Supreme Court justices’ homes, one can’t help noticing the raging hate displayed upon the faces of those in attendance. The murder of children, whether in the womb or not, is an atrocity of evil insanity.

There is a group of people in our society that have no regard for a holy God and will do most anything, legal or not, to have their way. You know how it goes, “the squeaky wheel gets the grease,” and our leaders have been smearing on a lot of grease lately.

Whether it’s the murder of babies or twisted sexual perversions, it matters not, as long as they get their way. It reminds me of children having temper tantrums. Unfortunately, many parents just give in and allow the child to have what they want instead of what they really need. My parents knew what we needed and were quick to see we got it. I can assure you, there were no temper tantrums in our household.

Another thing that stands out, and is holding hands with these rebellious actions, is the liberty that is being taken with the truth. Lying has become so commonplace, one doesn’t know who or what to believe anymore. Our own President is one of the biggest whopper tellers of all.

Lying was another thing with my generation that parents frowned upon, to say the least. We quickly learned that it’s better to “fess-up” right from the start than to compound the problem with a lie.

God’s Word tells us in the following passage what the world will be like in the last days. We are in the last days before the Lords returns for His bride and then brings judgment on the world in what we know as the Tribulation. Rembrandt could not have painted a better picture than what we now read in the following Scripture passage.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” – (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

I’ve mentioned this before, but would like to repeat that I used to wonder why those enduring the judgments of the Tribulation would actually curse God instead of crying out for mercy. It makes no sense. Why would you curse the only one who can help you?

“And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.” – (Revelation 16:9)

Notice this verse carefully. Plagues are causing great misery upon the people. In this case the plague is great heat that scorches mankind. Now notice who has power over the plagues. God has power over the plagues. Doesn’t it make sense to beg the one who has the power over what is making you miserable to give you mercy? Of course, it does, but instead, they curse the name of the only one who can bring relief…God.

Perhaps you will agree that we live in a world where no one wants to accept responsibility for their own actions. Most people today immediately blame someone else for all their problems.

Let’s go back to the parent-child scenario again. Let’s say that the child purposely throws eggs all over the neighbor’s car. The child’s parent finds out and gives the child a whipping and makes him clean the neighbor’s car. If the child knew what he did was wrong, he would be repentant. However, if the child felt like he was the victim, he would be angry at or even hate his parent and the neighbor. The neighbor did nothing wrong. The parent did nothing wrong. Yet, will the child truly recognize he is in the wrong? This is where true repentance (a changed attitude) comes in.

Until we repent and admit that we are sinners before a holy God, there can only be judgment ahead. Our heart must be changed. Contrary to popular opinion, man is not good, but evil continually.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” – (Jeremiah 17:9)

The person who refuses to repent (change his mind about his need for a Savior) will never call upon the only One who can save his condemned soul. Instead, he will blame God and everyone else for his woes. Even as his circumstances grow worse and worse, his heart just gets harder and colder. However, the repentant man will receive mercy.

“He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” – (Proverbs 28:13)

Why would a man curse the very name of God, when God is his only salvation? King David tells us what the Lord told him.

“I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.” – (Psalm 36:1-4 NIV)

The Lord says through the apostle Paul that some will be past forgiveness during the Tribulation.

“And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)

These condemned people will curse the very name of God as we are told in Revelation 16:9.

That can be avoided if they will repent (change their minds) now and call upon Jesus to save them.

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

Once a man is given over to a debased mind by God (Romans 1:28), to do those things which are not fitting, is there eternal hope left for them?
I have found that talking to people who seem to have this state of mind is like casting pearls before the swine. I like to think there is still hope, but it's difficult to see. I know personally that God can use physical circumstances to draw people to Christ, but I can't say that I was actually given over to a debased mind.

Is there a study done by a man of God that discusses this act of God, giving one over to a debased mind?

In an episode of Brother Andy Woods, he gave his opinion that everyone alive today is eligible for salvation. I cant give you the name of the program, maybe in the study of the book of James. I don't recall him talking about the debased mind during the teaching.

The tribulation is an incredible time where millions and perhaps even billions of those left behind are going to experience an awakening. So I guess even those with a debased mind can get saved during this period.

In fact it seems God has a specific number of seal martyrs in mind and their complete number prompts the Lamb to open the rest of the seals. This group is distinct from the Church which will have been raptured before the trib. And they seem also to be distinct from the trumpet martyrs who gets martyred specifically for refusing to take the mark.

I belive that each person alive has the chance for salvation until they take their last breath. I believe in death bed conversions if the person really means it. They could have had a lifetime of rebellion against God, but if at the very end they call out I believe they will be saved. I believe that the thief on the Cross is a model for this. He only had a couple hours left of his life there. Keep praying for your family members and firends that have not made a decision for Christ. You never know who we might be able to help snatch from the fires at the last moment if we keep praying for them and telling them about Jesus even if they don't seem receptive at the time. :pray :pray :pray

I sometimes get caught up in the wickedness of those around me and of those pushing their wicked agendas around this world, that I forget how powerful the gospel of Christ is and how it can change lives.
No doubt that Jesus will save every man who turns to Him. I just get weary and discouraged watching the evil around me and it kind of robs my joy.

Romans also tells us that there is none righteous, no, not one. Just need to be faithful and present to gospel when the opportunity arises - then step back and let the Holy Spirit work.

I know, I get frustrated with it as well. Hang in there, one day soon we will be called up and out of this mess here on earth and we will be with our wonderful Savior! :rapture

AMEN to this! My dad was a “goner“ until that Sunday afternoon in 1987, when his heart stopped at home. 30 minutes of CPR with the paramedics, 7 cardioversions, then 40 minutes in ER with more attempts at revival, and nothing —————.
But no less than 8 small local churches halted their services to pray, and as a pastor (who 8 went to school with) sat at his feet waiting for the tubes to be taken out so my mom could see him before taken to the morgue, his heart began to beat again and he prayed to receive Jesus!!!! His prognosis was 3-4 yrs. (per heart surgeon at Cleveland clinic), and he lived 13 more years!

Case 2 - my brother. Terminal degenerative brain disease diagnosed in 2016, with rapidly accelerating loss of body functions over the next 2 years. I had no idea that a few of his sitters were strong Christians, with one’s husband being a pastor. And a special Christian friend also interceding. I promised my mom on her death bed, I would never give up on him, and just a few months before he died, I talked to him about Jesus, and from the testimonies from his sitters, he also asked Jesus to save him. I arrived only 10 min. after he died, and saw the look of peace on his face. No struggle in death, just one last breath that was actually not even noticed by family sitting with him. Then after I returned home the next week, as I got in my car for errands, the song “Well Done” by the Afters, came on the radio, and the words just burst forth from my radio. Those words were the conformation I needed.

So we never give up ———-no matter how hopeless things look.

I think those who have chosen the path of Pharaoh and hardening their hearts will need to be brought really, really low before they are soft enough to come to Christ. Some evil leaders will have the heart of Ninevah. Jonah didn't even give the full message. He barely stayed long enough for people to hear him and yet they repented. They were just as evil as Pharaoh. But they had hearts open to listen. Only God can see the peoples' hearts. We are not responsible for the state of the soil we toss the seed to. But those who have chosen to have the heart of Pharaoh are beyond redemption because they have stuffed their own ears and blinded their own eyes. God won't force them to repent. Like I said, God would have to bring them very low. But in the Tribulation era I think those are the ones who will curse God each time He gives them a new chance to repent.

I think of the face of Klaus Scwabb and cannot see him falling on his knees before the Saviour ( willingly that is). Then the Bible speaks and tells me that “ with God all things are possible”. May this man and those who would curse God even now find the Way to salvation.

If by chance he ever survives to the end of the Tribulation and meets the King of kings, I can imagine Klaus with a look of defiant contempt on his face as he fixes his eyes on Jesus, saying, "Zhu think Zhu haf won?! Our seed is still among you, and later vee vill yet triumph still!" But will Klaus be too terrified? What do you think?

It says somewhere that The Antichrist will have a fierce countenance. I am seeing many among the politicians in my country and others like Schwab with such faces. The spirit of antichrist is in the world now and we are seeing more than ever the looks of people who hate God. Hard for us to think of that but these people are not playing around. They hate with a vengeance the One who will ultimately rule and reign. Daniel 8:23, 1John 4:1-6.
