The partnership that Boeing and Google co-founder Larry Page’s Kitty Hawk ventureforged to develop personal air vehicles has been reorganized and rebranded as a joint venture with a new name: Wisk.

Don't worry you'd still have glide power if it suddenly cut out.
The problem of lack of piloting skill still exists and any computer assistance may be gone if there are not fail safes. I am not certain but I think piloting a glider may require significantly more skill than piloting an aircraft with a motor.
