Aaron Rodgers signing new deal to stay with Packers

"“YES, I will be playing with the Packers next year,” Rodgers tweeted. “However, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I ‘signed.’ I’m very excited to be back.”
The NFL Network reported that the 38-year-old Rodgers had agreed to a four-year, $200 million contract that includes $153 million in guaranteed money. Rodgers’ tweet indicates this may not be correct."

No offense, but I had a little too much of Aaron Rogers last year. I used to enjoy watching him play but sort of got tired of him last year. The pony tail thing, will he leave GB or not, and he claimed to be playing the latter half of the season with a sore/sprained ankle, yet he didn’t appear to be gimpy. PLUS, for whatever reason, it seemed like every Green Bay game was being broadcast in our Knoxville TN area. That didn’t make any sense. Of course they aired all the Titans games, but there were a lot of good NFC games that I would have preferred to see than GB all year.

But, in his favor, if you are going to have a contract re-negotiation with management after the season is over, there is no better bargaining position than to be voted as the league MVP.

I also saw where Russell Wilson of the Seahawks was traded to the Denver Broncos. They also lost another key player so Seattle fans can’t be too happy.

What he's going to get paid is obscene. But that is the way of professional sports these days [sigh]

Jordan Love is simply not ready, so I'm really glad the Packers get to keep Rodgers :smile

We can't get most of the Packers games until the following day unless playing Minnesota or on Monday night cuz the Vi-KLUNKS (aka Vi-QUEENS) :puke
Game times have actually been purposely moved to block Packers games :furious :rant :mad :wild :frust :cry

Too expensive to get the cable thingee that allows you to watch any/all games live, and too hard on Dad to drive to Wisconsin to sit in a bar to watch the game :frown

It's a weird year this year. Tampa Bay, the Rams, Green Bay, Baltimore Ravens, the Russell Wilson led Broncos, and other usually good teams are struggling to win, yet the NY Giants, NY Jets, the Eagles - teams who have been weak in past years - are having good starts so far. It makes it hard to make picks when there is so much parity in the league, and the good vs. the bad teams have flipped on how they either win or lose.

The only time I was a Packers fan was back in the mid to late 90s, when my Marine friend brother was drafter by the Packers, Antonio Freeman. Freeman was Brett Favre’s favorite target for several years.

I have never been a fan of Rodgers, but do acknowledge he is one of the greats.

Sure did, are they still a mathematical chance of makin playoffs or too many losses ?
Yes. The NFC is not a strong conference so far this year. Even with 6 losses, out of 16 teams in their conference, only 8 teams have a better record. The Packers could probably lose 2 more games and still make the playoffs.
