Does anyone know how to go about standing up for the prisoners of the Jan 6 protest? I read that they are being malnourished and tortured and no one can visit them. I could be wrong? Praying for them regardless if they are guilty of crimes or not.

Why don't they get visitors? Isn't that a right? I am asking honestly because I don't know and am having a hard time finding info. I pray they are not being tortured (beatings and stripped naked and put in freezing, brightly lit rooms according to a supposed letter from Joe Biggs). If they are being isolated and tortured what does that say about our government?

Is there a group to join to press to find out the welfare of these people?

Second, who is paying for all the BLM damage to businesses? $6 million damage to buildings plus possible income loss while the businesses were closed in my town.

Just wondering. Ty

Really, you believe this?

A few Congressmen went to a jail where they or at least some of them are being held. They didn't even ask to see the prisoners but wanted to ask questions about conditions and treatment and were turned away.
Marjorie Taylor Greene

I have been told by multiple sources that the DC jail is on lockdown all weekend because we,
myself & my colleagues @RepMattGaetz @replouiegohmert @RepGosar,
went to the jail for a tour, which is normal for members of Congress.
We were called trespassers & locked out.

Normal to lockdown before high level visits. We dont want another Jody Foster incident when she was slow walking down the cell corridor on her way to see Lecter.o_O

The high level visitors were locked out.
I have no doubt that happened, but to say those arrested for the protest were beaten, tortured……Reads like it came from Alex Jones.

Malnourished, Im sure some were who were not prepared for the realty of prison/county Jail food.

Yeah, I saw the video of Gaetz and MTG not being allowed in the jail on social media. The guards were laughing inside and just locked the door and just walked away. Clearly it is a political ploy on the part of the Democrats.

I suspect it was a ploy by Greene and Gaetz too. Bringing a camera crew along, showing up unannounced, they weren't going to be allowed in. I believe they knew that and just wanted to make it look like the officials there have something to hide.

Yes, I'm suspicious of the motives of politicians, all of them.

I believe you nailed the most likely scenario.

The reports of things being done at the jail are serious and should be treated as such. I don't think it is anyone's best interests to let reports like that to be further inflamed by denying reasonable access to the jail by members of Congress to make sure they are OK. It would not have hurt anyone to let the representatives see that the inmates where not harmed. It probably all could have been put to rest in 10 minutes times. But oh no....

With the coverup of the CP officer who shot Ashli Babbit, it is easy to see why people are suspicious. The jail folks should have done the right thing and let them in to show there is nothing bad going on. I don't know where the reports originated, but this is not something that should be allowed to fester with bozo moves like those done by the jail officials. I can guarantee you if it were Demoncrat protesters in jail the media, representatives, courts, etc. would all be howling at the moon for access to the jailed protesters.

The problem in America right now is that it seems the Demoncrats are more determined to destroy America than the Republicans are to save America. Being politically appeasing and hitting with kid's gloves is not going to send a message to the Demoncrats. Republicans need to play hardball with these satanically inspired clowns. JMHO. :nod

Allegations of mistreatment at institutions should always be taken seriously. It probably is possible for one to gain access to the prison if they're serious about it. But like I said, I don't think that was MTG and Gaetz true interest. I think they wanted to make a show out of being denied access. It plays well for their crowd of supporters.

Having to adjust to walking free, to now being to jail and being kept in solitary confinement, would be difficult adjustment for many. Some of those complaints of mistreatment are probably related. To my knowledge those still in custody are still seeing their lawyers, and having their days in court. If it got to the point where their lawyers are being denied access to their client, that's when alarms go off for me.

I don't know. This is the same Washington, DC political machine that allowed all the riots, lootings, burnings, etc. when Trump was in office and continue to this day run the city into the ground as many articles on here attest. We have seen so many instances where the Demoncrats have used their political, judicial, etc. means in which to unfairly target conservatives, steal the elections, impose draconian measures on the populations, etc. I wouldn't put any of it past them. If you live in a Demoncrat area in this country it is not a good place to be. Thank God I don't live in a Demoncratic hellhole like Washington, DC. :ohno

I don't think any of those things have any thing to do with what was reported in the OP. But I don't know. I'm just going off what was said in the OP as I don't really follow all of it and just hear bits and pieces here and there. Afterall, the Demoncratic machine has pumped all this protesting up to be an insurrection and other nonsense which is nothing close to the truth. With the cultural Marxism that is running rampant in the Demoncratic party now it's always a legitimate concern about suppressing political enemies if the world learns anything from the past watching socialism and communism in action. It should be concerning for everyone in this country. They are trying to implement the same political system in this country that Cuba is currently resisting. Nothing good will come of a lack of transparency in America. Election night 2020 proved that point. :sad

Here's something else to think about. The Demoncrats have no respect for the law and will if it suits their political agenda bend the laws and rules as they see fit. When the Governor, Mayor, and courts are in Democratic control in a state one has little recourse but to follow the political machine and if you don't you'll be at their mercy. :sad We see this on full display in places like Washington, Colorado, etc.

A prime example of this is the situation across various Demoncratic hellholes or cities is where they are no longer prosecuting shoplifting if it is less than $950, etc. Business are closing and leaving San Francisco because of this. The laws on the books say that if someone steals they should be arrested. A rational and lawful society would expect and demand this. But since we are dealing with the Demoncrats we are not dealing with the rational, but rather the irrational and illogical. The Demoncratic political machine and their allies in various AG offices have thrown the laws to the side and decided to pick and choose which laws they will follow and apply.

And you can bet your top dollar that if they will bend rules like these, they will not hesitate for a minute to bend the rules when it comes to dealing with their political enemies. We saw the vicious and delusional behavior of the irrational Demoncrats with the SCOTUS nominations, ANTIFA and BLM riots, etc. etc. etc.

The fact that the CP police have not "officially" released the name of the officer involved in the shooting of Ashli Babbitt speaks volumes. If she had been black we would have known the name of the officer within 24 hours if not sooner. Here it is almost 8 months and no "official" release of the CP police officer's name. There's no reason for that except to cover it up. And if they will do that then God only knows what else they will do. I'm glad Gaetz (my state representative in my district) and MTG went and showed the Demoncrat's cards at the jail by locking the doors. People need to know and to see that.

Anyone trusting the Demoncrats is in for rude awakening. JMHO. :sad

Amen, Chris.

I do not care what Matt Gaetz true motives were in this situation. :shrug He did the right thing regardless. When we have no one in congress looking out for us then we complain "where are the good guys?" Then when they do something positive, they are said to have self-glorifying motives. Can't win.

And if 2020 taught us anything it should be that ill-treatement toward innocent people is rampant in our judicial system and among much of our so-called law enforcement. :sad All accusations should be checked out.
