Observations on Queen Elizabeth
By Tim Moore

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, 2022. During her storied lifetime, she reigned as Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms, including 32 sovereign states. At 70 years and 214 days, she was the longest reigning British monarch in history.

Elizabeth ascended to the throne on the heels of Great Britain’s critical role in the Allied victory over Nazi Germany in WWII. And yet her reign saw the global decline of the British Empire — and the near total collapse of Christian faith in the island nation.

At Elizabeth’s coronation in 1952, the Archbishop of Canterbury asked her, “Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your ability maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law?” The young queen did not hesitate when she affirmed her commitment to those responsibilities.

In response to her affirmation of the duty of Britain’s monarch to preserve and defend the Christian faith, she was presented with a Bible as these words of encouragement were offered:

Our gracious Queen: to keep your Majesty ever mindful of the law and the Gospel of God as the rule for the whole life and government of Christian Princes, we present you with this Book, the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is Wisdom; this is the royal Law; these are the lively Oracles of God.

England has undeniably devolved into a post-Christian society. Soon, Elizabeth’s son Charles will be coronated as King. His rejection of the Christian faith as the sole path to God is well-documented. It is unlikely that he will even tolerate words like the ones above being included in his coronation, let alone pledge his devotion to upholding the Christian faith.

As England has gone, so America is going.

He is a humanist. I remember reading that he liked to read the works of Carl Sagan.
No doubt. Charles has always been a bit of an oddball. The fact that he’s a firm believer in the destructive tripe the WEF puts out is unsettling to say the least. It’s stuff like this that makes you understand why a great many people in the U.K. would prefer that the Crown skip Charles and go straight to William.

Indeed. I would much rather we were crowning William and Katherine this May than Charles and Camilla.

I miss Her Majesty. She was a good and faithful Christian and a great Queen. she grew bolder every year in proclaiming her faith in her Christmas speeches.

Our loss is the Lord's gain.

And all her good boys and girls who preceded her to Heaven must be so happy now their mistress has joined them. :thedog

I don’t get the impression Will is a spiritual giant.

I’ve always thought that when Charles absolutely turned his back on Diana, and to a married woman, that his reign would always be troubled like King David’s after he fell with Bathsheba.
Look at the mess with Harry and that’s not going away any time soon, especially if Charley removes their titles. If that happens Harry and Meg will have to be on TV with Oprah again complaining about it.

It was a shame that rules and tradition wouldn’t allow Charles to marry Camilla in the first place. An awful lot of pain and uproar could have been avoided. William and Harry were no doubt scarred by their parents breakup and divorce and Diana’s death. William was fortunate because when he was a student at Eton he would spend a good deal of his time with his grandmother and grandfather and he received a lot of prepping for his future role as King. Harry didn’t get that level of attention because he was the spare and not the heir. So when Meghan came along he fell for her quickly. The Royal Family seemed to make her welcome and Charles walked her down the aisle at the wedding. I’m not sure who did or said what that turned them against the Royal Family but clearly Meghan runs the show in her household. I think she saw Harry as easy pickings. There seems to be a need for apologies all around in this mess.
