Two Knesset members propose legislation to outlaw sharing the Gospel in Israel and send violators to prison – could it become law?
Joel C. Rosenberg | March 19, 2023

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – Is it possible that the Israeli government this year could pass legislation making it illegal for people to share the Gospel message in the very land where Jesus was born, raised, preached, died, buried and rose from the dead? Unfortunately, yes.

As Palm Sunday and Easter approach – the two most sacred days on the calendar for those who follow Jesus as both God and Messiah – two members of the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) introduced a bill last week that would ban any and all efforts to tell people about Jesus. The bill would send violators to prison.

ItIsFinished!

Blood bought child of the King of kings.
Regardless of what Satan tries to devise , he won't be able to stop the 144,000 Jewish evangelists when they start sharing the gospel during the Tribulation nor the Two Witnesses until God allows .
This is just another sign of the coming Tribulation , which means our departure is ever closer than before .
Soon , in a twinkling of an eye...

Wonder if this legislation is aimed more at islamic proselytization and imposition of sharia outside of their families and communities than sharing The Gospel? Among its provisions, the bill also prohibits monetary incentives to change faith. Paying people to convert has been a common way for muslims to convert people to their faith, especially among poor populations. Israel has strong security and religious interests in stopping the spread of islam and sharia within its borders. Since the two sponsors of the bill are ultra-Orthodox, wonder if this is in response to the increasingly secular instead of Jewish character of the State? Or at least partly directed toward Messianic Jews, who evangelize in their own Jewish communities?

If this passes:

Wonder what will happen to the little theater there, where I saw the Jesus film?

Wonder what will happen to the various Christian sites? Christian tourism and international support are huge sources of income for the country.

The 2 legislators are from the United Torah party, one of the ultra religious conservative wing who are like the ancient Pharisees in having a conservative world view and a deep fear of Christianity.

At this point in time I doubt they'll be able to make this one stick.

Netanyahu needs them in his coalition, but he needs the support of evangelical Christianity that supports Israel even more and he knows it. He is quite friendly to Christians as are many in power in Israel.

Plus I think God is moving in Israel to bring the last of the Jews who will go up as part of the Church, and these politicians haven't a hope of containing the Holy Spirit.

When we are gone in the Rapture, the ultra religious WILL be gaining power.

2 reasons:

1: Jesus comments in Matthew 24: 15-21 suggests that the ultra religious WILL be in power for some time before the mid point of the Tribulation because the Sabbath laws vs 20 seem to be in place forcing all of Israel to walk only so many paces on the Sabbath, no cars, or any public transport will be allowed or even available on the Sabbath.

2: The fact that the Temple is built by the midpoint as seen in v 15. The religious Jews are the ones pushing for the Temple.

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Quoting from the article:

"However, in their official explanation of the bill, the two Israeli legislators specifically emphasized the warning to stop Christians, in particular.

The bill’s primary objective, therefore, appears to be making it illegal for followers of Jesus (“Yeshua” in Hebrew) to explain why they believe that Jesus is both Messiah and God with the hope that Israelis might consider following Him.

The bill does not only make a simple personal conversation about Jesus with another individual a crime.

It would also make it illegal for “someone who solicits a person – directly, digitally, by mail or online – in order to convert his religion.”

Thus, producing and publishing online videos explaining the Gospel to Jewish or Muslim people in Israel – and to those of any other religious faiths – would suddenly become illegal.

Publishing books, other printed literature, online articles, podcasts, or other forms of media that explains the life and ministry of Jesus and His message found in the New Testament would also become illegal.

So would discussing the Gospel message via email, text messages, written letters and/or on social media, including answering questions initiated by people who don’t follow Jesus.

As we eagerly await our departure, the time for the Jews to come to Christ is rapidly approaching. This law won't stand in the way of that effort. The tribulation is going to be a crazy time with a lot of conflicting things going on. The ultra religious Jews in power, Israel also being the centre of world evangelism, and so on. God is going to get a lot of Glory from all of this.

Two influential members of Israel’s Knesset have introduced a bill to outlaw teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Israel and sentence violators to prison.
Israel already bans Christians from proselytizing minors but this new bill will go even further and “ban any and all efforts to tell people about Jesus.”

Everlasting Life

Through Faith in Jesus
They'll need to get rid of the Old Testament too... if they want to wipe Jesus out of their books.

Yep....like this passage:

Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
3 He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.

4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows[a] that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
the sins of us all.

7 He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
8 Unjustly condemned,
he was led away.[b]
No one cared that he died without descendants,
that his life was cut short in midstream.[c]
But he was struck down
for the rebellion of my people.
9 He had done no wrong
and had never deceived anyone.
But he was buried like a criminal;
he was put in a rich man’s grave.

10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
and cause him grief.
Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,
he will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life,
and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.
11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,
he will be satisfied.
And because of his experience,
my righteous servant will make it possible
for many to be counted righteous,
for he will bear all their sins.
12 I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,
because he exposed himself to death.
He was counted among the rebels.
He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.
