The War Against Christianity

The War Against Christianity
By Dennis Huebshman

Matthew Chapter 24 (also Mark 13) has Jesus giving the signs of the end of the age. Part of this refers to His actual second coming, and part is pre-tribulation. We have to remember He is talking to the Jews whose people for the most part will go through the Tribulation. After the age of the gentiles, God will focus on His Chosen People. (Romans 11:25)

In verse 5, Jesus warns: Many will come in My name and mislead many.
6. There will be wars and rumors of war.
7. Nation will rise against nation and in diverse places will be famines and earthquakes.
8. This will be the beginning of the birth pangs (tribulation)
10. Many will fall away and betray one another.
11. There will be false prophets.
12. There will be an increase in lawlessness and people’s love will grow cold.
14. The gospel will be preached to all the world as testimony to all nations and then the end will come.

If you take note of all the above, we’re at that point today, and everything is in place. People throughout history have said theirs was the time, however not all the above could have been possible before this modern era and before May 14, 1948. Preaching the gospel all over the world now is as simple as throwing a switch at a Television station, and every part of the globe has the capability of receiving the broadcast. As a matter of fact, this is one of the means of communication the anti-christ will use.

Going to verses 32-34 (Mark 13:28-30): Jesus gives the tale of the Fig tree. When the New Testament writers told of the fig tree in this context, it was understood that this referred to Israel. Jesus said when the branches are tender and puts forth leaves, He is referring to the re-birth of Israel. This did not take place before May 14, 1948. For over 2500 years, the nation of Israel did not exist, and her people were scattered throughout the earth.

Jesus said when this sign took place, the generation that saw it would not pass until all things takes place – His Return. The question remains How Long is a Generation? Answer, I don’t know, but it’s in the neighborhood of 70 years. Part of the prophesy also has to do with the Jews having possession of Jerusalem. They did this for the first time in the 1967 6-day war over 50 years ago. Also, the Bible speaks of a regathering of the Jews to their promised land which has increased over the last decade.

If we go to 1 Peter 1:20-21, we are told, “Know this first of all, no prophesy of Scriptures is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophesy was ever made by an act of human will, but by men moved by the Holy Spirit of God.”

1 Peter 5:8 says be on the alert because the adversary the devil prowls like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.

Also, 2 Peter 3:3-9 tells us one day to the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day. God is not on any earthly schedule. His timing is the only thing that counts.

1 John 2:15-16 says do not love the world nor the things of this world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life is not from the Father but from the world. Going to verse 23: Whoever denies the Son, does not have the Father; however the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. John fortifies this again in 1 John 5:10-12.

Another resource is 2 Timothy 3: 1-5. Paul is telling Timothy what people will be like at the end. 1. But understand this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2. For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unruly, 3. Unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, opposed to what is good, 4. Treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God. 5. They will maintain the outward appearance of religion but will have repudiated its power. So Avoid People Such As This. If this doesn’t describe today’s atmosphere in this world, I don’t know what will.

So, what’s all this got to do with today? Christianity is in a fight for its life. The world is kicking Christian principles and beliefs to the curb. Momentum against the Christian faith is accelerating at breakneck speed.

Tolerance laws are catching Christians off-guard. In Arizona, a lady was sued because she would not photograph a Gay Wedding! So far, the courts have backed up her adversaries. In Oregon, a couple had to close their bakery because they refused to make a wedding cake to honor a gay wedding! They too were sued, and the 9th circuit has so far upheld their adversaries. By the way, the 9th circuit so far is the most over-turned appeals court in the land. The Supreme Court thus far has not ruled on these. There are bakers in other states that make it known they have Christian values and are being attacked because of this. The activists can go to other secular bakers, but choose to intimidate and harass the Christians.

Right here in Texas, a liberal judge from San Antonio has ruled the state’s same-sex restriction is unlawful. He has had to put his ruling on hold until proper appeal can be made to the 5th circuit (which is fairly conservative) and probably the Supreme Court. Again, no final ruling has come down.

Christian events are being challenged everywhere. In Athens, Texas, a group from way up north challenged a Nativity that has been on the square just about from the time Athens was formed. So far, the Nativity has been allowed to be used, however a new ruling has been put in place that if other religions want to put up a symbal of their faith, they are permitted to do so. In other words, if a satanic group wants to put up a display for satan, they must be allowed to do so.

Schools are being banned from having Christmas parties, but instead are allowed Winter Parties. One has banned the colors green and red from its party. University students are allowed to hold wiccen parties or classes on Islam, but Bible Studies are not allowed. They are having to take their studies off campus and into private homes. Some cities are making laws against this by saying it’s against Zoning regulations.

Our own military is targeting Christians. Chaplin’s are told they cannot pray in Jesus name and Christian groups are being targeted as religious extremists and domestic hate groups. Even the Billy Graham ministry in North Carolina went through an extreme audit by the IRS.

Some churches are changing their by-laws to allow same-sex unions. As a pastor, I will gladly perform a ceremony between a man and a woman, but never for a same-sex couple. What we’re witnessing is not so much a war on Christianity as it is a total rebellion against God.

Jesus told His followers: If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. (John 15:18)

I was asked by outside people what I would do if laws and government regulations try to control what messages are disallowed. My comment has been when Christianity becomes Illegal, I pray there will be enough evidence I will be convicted.

This is one reason I stand so strong on trying to bring l the message of Jesus. Never in my lifetime did I believe I would see what is happening right now. However, I have put my faith in the Father, and am not about to change now. I believe He is getting ready to take His faithful away from all this and let the sin-filled world play out its last 7 years. I will not be ignorant enough to set a date and time on this event other than to say God put it into His word (Thessalonians and Corinthians) and He has never been wrong.

All we have to do is be ready when it does happen. We can do this by getting into His Love Letter on a regular basis and live as if Jesus is right beside you every minute…………because He is! If you belong to Jesus, your forever will be wonderful. If not, it will be pure Hell. No other option is available. It would be good to choose today and ensure a proper ending.
