During the end times or last days the feared Antichrist will rise from the “people who destroyed the Temple and City” or in other words he will come from the Western European Union. What is interesting to note is that the Antichrist will have a partner that works with him in carrying out his diabolical plans. The Bible refers to this partner as The False Prophet.
The False Prophet is a very interesting character in that not much information is provided about him. However, the Bible does tell us that the False Prophet will rise up in the end times or last days and play an important role in having mankind to worship the Antichrist. Just as the Holy Spirit is responsible for calling men to worship God, the False Prophet will be responsible for calling men to worship the Antichrist during the Tribulation period.
In the end times, as with so many other things, Satan will once again try to counterfeit the things God has declared that he will do. Just as there is a Holy Trinity of God the Father, Jesus Christ as the Son, and the Holy Spirit we will find that Satan has devised his own satanic trinity for the last days. This satanic trinity will include Satan playing the role of God, the Antichrist playing the role of the Son, and the False Prophet playing the role of the Holy Spirit. These are just a few of the ways Satan will try to counterfeit the actions of God while trying to get mankind to worship him. Satan has always desired the worship of men, and this is one of the things that caused his Fall from his elevated status as the anointed angel. The False Prophet will play a pivotal role in getting mankind to worship the Antichrist and will receive power from the Antichrist who will be indwelt by Satan.
Being that not much information is given about the False Prophet, people have previously speculated that the False Prophet could be a pope from the Roman Catholic Church, a pagan and universalist leader from a combination of religions, or that he could be an apostate Jew who has turned his back on the God of Israel. It is my belief that only time will tell who the False Prophet will be, but one thing is for sure and that is he will be cast alive into the lake of fire with the Antichrist at the end of the seven year Tribulation period when Jesus returns to establish his 1,000 year rule.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
As we’ve already discussed the Bible mentions some interesting things about the False Prophet in that he will encourage men to worship the evil Antichrist as God on Earth and that he will also bring down fire from Heaven as a counterfeit act of the biblical account of Elijah from 2Ki 1:10,12. The Bible has this to say about the False Prophet and this extraordinary act of power that is in counterfeit of Elijah:
Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by [the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
The Bible also mentions that it is the False Prophet that introduces the diabolical mark of the beast that influence and causes mankind to pledge allegiance to the Antichrist. This mark of the beast will cause all those who take it to be doomed to destruction for rejecting God. The Bible specifically warns men against taking this satanic mark and basically selling their soul to the devil.
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number [is] Six hundred threescore [and] six.
In order to avoid the coming Antichrist and False Prophet, people need to make their decision for Jesus Christ today. With the rise of the European super-state and with Israel being back in the land, time is running out to make that decision. For the Bible declares that today is the day for salvation. Tomorrow could be too late. I’d encourage everyone to avoid the coming Antichrist, False Prophet, and Tribulation period by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Your eternal destiny will hang on that decision.
