Ya ever wonder about Introspection?!

Ya ever wonder about Introspection?!
By Don Twobears

*Introspection – “An examination of one’s own thoughts and feelings”

How odd is it, when we are “Introspective”, we tend to see ourselves as more “Unworthy” than we ought? Am I the only one that sees it this way? Let’s stop and think on this for a moment. I know many Women that will stop and think of themselves and then tell us about where her deficiencies ly. Typically they will talk about their Facial Features or their weight, a bulge here or there that they don’t like. For example; they will say their nose is too long or too short, their hips are too big or too small. What they never see is how happy they should be, with what the Lord God gave them. They should be happy and Proud that the Lord God saw fit to make them different, exceptional as they are. Where do all the “Plastic Surgeries” arise from? That fact that most people are not happy, with all the Lord God has created them with, they feel they can change these things and do a better job, than the Lord God.

I know this from my own Mom. She was growing older and didn’t like the fact, that she had “Saggy Skin under her chin.” So off to the Hospital she went and had this fixed by Plastic Surgery. This is just an example of what she thought through “Introspection.” So the question now is, is this always a good thing to do? In my opinion, No! Again stop and think on this. My Mom was fantabulous just as she was! I Knew she was growing older and she was very used to looking beautiful, as she had always been a very Beautiful looking woman to begin with. Yet, her Introspection told her otherwise…thus, she felt the Surgeons could improve on her.

As we know, there have been many Famous people that have used Plastic Surgery and obviously, it does not always turn out the way they originally wanted it to, they have since become almost hideous. That my Friends, is the opposite effect of Personal Intropection. As with anything, according to our own self-awareness, we need to be Level-Headed and very conscious of what we want and the the final outcome, at times they are very different. And yet, is this the only things to do with Introspection? No!

Stop and ponder this for a moment. When the Lord God created us, we were unique in almost every way, special, If you will. And it is a fact, that as we grow older, things will change. I know, when I was 30, I resembled Tony Orlando and now? I am 65 and I am no longer tall and buff (If you will). My Hair is receding and thin and silver. I sport a belly now (where that came from I don’t know!). Point is, I am no longer a Tony Orlando look-alike and never will be again, but does that give me cause to seek out a Plastic Surgeon?! Absolutely Not! Just because my Body has changed with age, I am still the same guy inside and I will remain so until I am no longer here.

I have learned to Love myself, as I am and besides that, the Lord loved me enough to make me unique and special, similiar to others and yet uniquely…just me. When we are Introspective, we are usually alone in our thoughts and whom better think about than ourselves? Yet how many think to themselves, being Introspective and think, where will I be in the future, what will I look like then? Not too many. Obviously, that is a great time for the Lord to be speaking to you!

If you are a hooker and abusing yourself, you feel ugly and smelly, why should you be happy with this? If your a drunk, you can’t live a day without the booze and you can not control yourself, thus your life is out of control, essentially your a wreck! If it’s drugs, it is the same with booze, take Krockadil and holes will begin to appear on your body. Cocaine will wreck your nose, leave holes in your brain as does huffing paint. Heroin is the same and besides that, if you hate yourself so much, why should others love you?! With all of these and others as well, what is there to love, what do you have to offer others? Not a thing! So you continue and what happens?! You just keep digging that hole deeper and deeper for yourself. Do you ever wonder what these people see, when they are Introspective? Do you really think they even care at what they see? Only Jesus Christ is able to intervene in these cases! He is the only One that can rebuild a person and make them Unique and special once again.

The problem is, ever person must wants to change. They must be willing to go Introspective, to look at themselves and want to be better. Then they must seek out the help they need, the REAL NEED! Why is it that they hate themselves so much, What is it that they don’t like about themselves?! And WHOM, is the best person to go and see about this change? These are some hard questions to ask yourself!

As we already know, if you don’t like the heat, don’t go in the kitchen or live in Texas, for that matter! I digress though. It would appear that everyone always resorts to looking at what is Outside, rather than looking at what is inside. It’s always the easiest way out for everyone, but is that the best way to go? What if you had the intestinal fortitude to go after what is more difficult, to change from the Inside first? Again, Jesus Christ is the only one that is able to do that for you! And as we all know, HE is the last anyone is willing to look to! Sadly speaking!

Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Again I am going to ask, if the Holy Word of God is better than 4500 years old and has never changed, then why do so few ever seek it out?! Do you think their Introspection is superficial?! I do! And I have said it many times, because I read it in the Bible, WE are the fallen species! If that is indeed the absolute Truth, then why should we be willing to listen to our own advice! What makes you think, that your own thoughts…would never deceive you?!

If your Heart and your Soul and Spirit, are always on the Lord Jesus Christ, then what do you think your thoughts will be like?! Conversely, if they are always on yourself and you are not walking with Jesus Christ, what will your thoughts be? Satan and his ilk are always willing to “Lie to you” and tell you that everything is just great, when you know, that is NOT the case! How many times must you understand, that Satan and his ilk, are the greatest LIARS that have ever been?! Besides that, you and I were created by God Himself, that being the case, Satan and his ilk….HATE YOU! They hate everything about you, how you look, how you sound, how you think…everything about you! So why do you listen to them?! Please reread the Passage of Scripture above, not just once but as many times as it takes to sink in!

Pleasure may last a lifetime, but that is only a time while you are here on earth, what about after you are no longer on earth…then what?! Hell and the Lake of Fire are going to be everything Pleasure is not! Has it never occurred to you, why this life is so short?! Think about that and think some more! However short or long your life is, is just enough time, for your to be Introspective enough to ask yourself where will you spend Eternity! The entire reason for this short earth-bound time is to accept Jesus Christ and then reside in Heaven! Yet, the other way is available to you as well, but suffice it to say…it is your choice! Just make sure you are “Introspective enough to see where you are and where you are going Eternally!”

Revelation 3:20-22 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I use the King James version of the Bible and all emphasis is mine.
