Thoughts, Questions and Answers……Part 2

Thoughts, Questions and Answers……Part 2
By Don Twobears

Okay…so we were talking about “Our Sin”. I am wondering if you are able to see that Our Sin, is so prevalent in our lives, on a moment to moment basis, that we seldom think about what we are doing. What we need to understand about Sin, is that it is almost always, too closely associated with our Wants, rather than our Needs. We are able to see these “Wants” in our Babies, if they are hungry or cold or too warm, whatever the case, it MUST be rectified and Right Now! That is unless you enjoy the Crying of a baby. For a baby, their needs are long, yet I am not saying babies commit Sin. The thing is, having their needs and wants attended to immediately, teaches them to continue the method to gain other wants or needs to be met, in years down line. I have seen adults try the exact same methods…the Tantrum! Sort of makes you wonder about them…right?

After being Rebuked a number of times, a child will learn they must use other tactics to fulfill their wants. Stop and think about lying in this instance. So it would seem that we learn the Sin of lying, as a way to have our wants met. We must learn to be “Sly” in obtaining our desired want, of whatever kind. How odd is it, that some children learn this at a very young age, while others take longer and then there is that one child, that is never able to Lie, because he is always caught.

For adults this Sin is very prevalent. You wake up in the morning and maybe you didn’t sleep very well, or you have a “Krick” somewhere from sleeping wrong. Whatever the case, a Friend or Co-worker comes up and says, “Good morning, How are you?” and so, what is your response, as is usual, “Oh I’m fine.” And so now you have told a lie. So is this innocuous? Just an innocent response? Nopers…it is a Sin, because it is not the truth, does this make any sense to you? Our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ never lied, in any manner, HE told the truth.

I will admit that few are truly willing to listen to you or I, when it comes to our complaining about ourselves and besides that, we do not want to be seen as weak…in any manner. How odd is it that we all have weaknesses, flaws and we all know this. I believe if we were willing to closely examine all the responses from others, we would indeed find many more Lies being told. How common-place is that?

So far we have discussed the Sin of lying and yet there are so many others. How many of us voted for a certain individual into Office, when we already knew, that individual is the wrong choice? BUT…they would allow certain things, that in the end, would allow us to have what we want, whether that want is right or wrong. What is a male willing to say to a cute female, to obtain what he wants from her? And that tactic is worthy of many females as well. I am willing to see that, we do some pretty dastardly things to fulfill our own wants and it would seem that, our wants are at the heart of Sin.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

That is the hammer hitting the nail square on the head! And as we are able to see, Sin begins with our thoughts…first! The second Sin comes when we choose to act on that thought, so now we have a train here…if you will. When the Lord God speaks about our Heart…this is the exact area of our Thoughts. Everything begins with a thought! The Sin continues with our actions. The Snowball effect, if you will. This is also the exact area, we need to be watching so very closely and immediately give the thought to the Lord and ask HIS Forgiveness for having it. Obviously….the world has FEW that are willing. If Life is so very short, then why must we Sin so very much, in order to have our wants met?! Food for thought there.

Sex lasts for only moments, food for maybe 8 hours and drink for even less and that fancy new car will be bright and glossy, until the very first rain. Has no one else considered, that our wants last just so long and then their gone and then we continue on to a new want. Vicious Cycle….ya think? What is so unusual about the Word of God, is that it talks about these things and in some cases…very deeply. The Word of God tells us to examine the Word of God closely, to Rightly Divide it and then to ponder it through out the day….is that what is happening? Again…Noppers! How about on Sunday Morning? You must be kidding…right?! We sit in the Church Auditorium and we “Feel” so Holy…are we?! We’re feeling Holy, right up until the moment the “Collection Plate” comes along, then it changes. Next time your in church, check the faces out some time and see for yourself. Let me ask you a question. Is the Sin of Murder, greater than the Sin of a “White Lie?” Come on now…it’s not that difficult!

As we are able to see and to say again, Sin begins in our Thoughts, in our Hearts. It is also obvious, that far too many people in this world, want nothing to do with the Bible and that is because the Bible convicts them of their Sin. In other words, the Bible, inspired by the Holy Spirit, shows us our own Sin and our Sin begs us to seek the Lord Gods Forgiveness. As you can imagine, no one wants to be known for being wrong, or bad…which we know is Sin. For the majority, Forgiveness of Sin is to admit we are Sinful…wrong! And that again, leads to Eternal Death! Well…we can’t have any of that!

Have you ever noticed, no one is able to open a human heart and see the Sin there. That my Friends, means that our Heart is our Spirit and that is where the Sin exists. Now if we look to see the “Effects” of our own Sin, you need only to look at the Drug Addict or drunk, to see the horrifying results. Smoking anything will make you look old before your time, it brings the wrinkles, as does Alcohol leave you with leathery skin, a huge liver and spots. Too much Sun will do the exact same thing over time, not forgetting to mention, the effects on your heart. Esophageal Varicies and the like, Onset of Diabetes II, being over-weight, and sometimes a reduction in vision, along with Dementia and Alzheimers…to name a few.

Numbers 32:23 “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.”

Here’s another thing to remember, everybody knows, that everyone else commits Sin and very few are willing to admit that they have commited Sin as well. The Lord God does indeed know of every Sin. HE knows us from beginning to end and knows whether we belong to HIM or not, whether our Sin has been covered by HIS Blood from the Cross on calvary! Let me say this as simply as I can, “No coverning of your Sin by HIS Blood…NO Heaven…Your Eternity will be in Hell.” This is the part that keeps so many from the Word of God, The Lord does NOT “Condemn” us, HE “Convicts” us. Just wondering, do you know that Satan will go before the Lord God and “Condemn” each of us for our Sin? Satan and his ilk…absolutely HATES you and I, because the Lord God created us in HIS image!

Be it known, from the Holy Word of God, Satan and his ilk, will suffer for Eternity, because of their actions on us and against the Lord…they have no hope! Yes you are correct, Satan and his ilk influence us to Sin, yet…that Sin is for you and I to pay for. It is our Sin! We are the guilty Party! The only answer there is for our Sin, is the Blood of Jesus Christ covering our Sin.

Isaiah 1:18-20 “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”

Again, your questions are answered in Black and White, in the Holy Word of God, there is NO better reference to seek! You still have Thoughts and Questions, the Bible has the answers…check it out!!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I use the King James version of the Bible and all emphasis is mine.
