The Physical, The Spirit

The Physical, The Spirit
By Don Twobears

My Wife and I were sitting here in the morning and talking some, I asked her what she thought would be good to read, in an article. I felt it was sort of odd that, she would reply with, the difference between the Physical body and the Spirit that is housed inside. I say odd, because too few ever consider that there is a difference between the two. It struck a strange cord with me, as to how I could divide, in the written word, this difference. The more that I thought about this, the more intrigued I became with it, a new challenge, so to speak.

Having been in the Medical Field for almost 50 years, I have seen many, many things. I know for certain, there is a difference and yet that is an extremely close and tight relationship. So much of a tight relationship, that to remove a part of the skull and probe the brain with an electrical probe, would evoke memory. Right down to actual tastes and feeling and still as yet, the two are different all together.

I am sure all of us, have at one point in time, tapped our Head, when someone states something, that you knew was a “For Real”. Kind of like that commercial, “I could have had a V-8!” Remember?! The question is, “Why do we do that?” And everyone would answer, “Cause it was a thought in my Brain.” And of course, your Brain is inside your skull or rather, in your head, but is that truly where that idea originated from, your Brain? Is that the reason we tap our head? You will be surprised by the answer.

Genesis 8:20 “And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.”

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

If you re-read the Verses above, you will notice that the Lord God says “The Heart” and of course we then think of that thing that beats within our chests. Which is one of the reasons that we “Cross our Heart” when the Flag of our Nation passes in front of us. So, does this mean our ideas and thoughts come from our beating hearts? Don’t be too quick to answer, if your not truly sure.

If one were to venture into a State Hospital, one would find some patients that are in comas. Their Bodies still work as do ours, but there is no reaction to outside stimulus, pain or pleasure. Some of them are there after having a stroke or other brain injury. So the question is, do they have thoughts? One may also venture into special hospitals were they deal with Patients suffering from Alzheimer and the Patient does not speak or react to outside stimulus. Does this mean they have thoughts, like we do? Or not? To be very honest, many, many Physicians have had that exact same set of questions and the answer to those questions is, no one knows for sure.

So we are right back to the very beginning, if we have a thought, does that originate in our Brain? And if we have feelings of emotions, does that originate in our beating hearts?

Hebrews 4:12 “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

It is obvious, according to the Verse above, that there is a difference between the Physical and the Spiritual parts of us. So if that is correct, then why are we not able to divide the two? The answer is also very easy, we are NOT God.

We are able to “Sense” a difference if we concentrate on it and we can then see there is a Physical Body and a Spirit housed within that body, yet there are still two different parts of us. We are able to sense an ability to know our Spirit and a hope to separate these two. Think in terms of Yoga or the like. We want to distinguish the two and further develop them. We often refer to it as “Raising our Consciousness to a higher plane”, if you will. Then we can ask, if our Consciousness is at a higher plane, which part of us, benefits the most. I keep hearing Oprah Winfrey rattling on about something, typically, she has no better idea of this, than anyone else. I digress on her.

According to the Word of God, there is enough room in our Bodies to house, our Spirit and the Holy Spirit together. I prefer this, as compared to the previous.

We are able to see there is indeed, a Spirit within us, inside our Physical bodies. Therefore, one is subject to the other and that would be the Physical body is subject to the Spirit within. Now we are able to understand that everything begins and ends with our Spirit. Our Spirit is the REAL you! If we take this as it now stands, what do you think your Spirit looks like? A big question if there ever was one!

Do you think, your Spirit looks like what you see in the mirror? Or could it be something more deep and if so, what does that say about…Sin? The Word of God talks about Sin, as a stain. Think in terms of a pure white table cloth and someone spilt, say Beet Juice or wine on it, or even blood. Will that stain come out of the table cloth, if you wash it, or will you have to throw it away, because the stain remains?! And then we can ask, if the Spirit is spoiled and stained like the table cloth, how are we able to remove the stain of Sin? Another question might be, How much Sin does it take to turn you Spirit into complete black? If it is completely Black, how can one wash it clean once again, or is it beyond repair?!

Whatever you do or think or say, you can never walk away from your Sin! The reason is, Adam and Eve, ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Thus, you KNOW when you do right or wrong! That original Sin follows each and everyone of us! Because of that, you know the Word of God is absolutely correct and Righteous…as is God! The Lord God Almighty will NOT tolerate even the smallest Sin, in HIS presence! Ah-oh!!

If that is true…then how are we able to enter into Heaven? Going to the Confessional and telling some Priest won’t work. What if that Priest is worse than you?! That Priest is just as human as you and I, he is just as fallible as well and he is under the spot-light of Original Sin, as you and I. Original Sin will get you Hell and the Lake of Fire! There you are, throwing up your hands in despair! What Hope do you have, are we cursed beyond Heaven, doomed to live in Hell and the Lake of Fire for Eternity? And the answer to that is YES…unless you have been Saved to Jesus Christ!

Hey…ya’ll have a choice to make and it is one way or the other and if you decide you don’t want to choose, then your Original Sin (If nothing else) will get you Hell and the Lake of Fire!

Hey…I did not say this…The Lord God Almighty already did in HIS Holy Word the Bible! It applies to each and every one that has ever been born and has grown up on this planet!

I understand, most everyone does not like being held accountable for all that they do or fail to do. The ONE and ONLY thing you MUST DO…is to accept Jesus Christ…as your Lord and Savior! You must ask HIM to forgive you of your Sin and hold yourself accountable for that Sin. And you must ask HIM to come into your Life and make YOU a new Creature altogether! That is the ONLY answer to keep you from Hell and the Lake o Fire, I did not say this The Holy Word of God said it!

Obviously, your Physical body is for here on earth and here only! Once your physical Body ceases to operate, your Spirit goes on and that is the Real you, your thoughts and your Emotions, who you really are! Your Spirit will be in Eternity! The question then is….WHERE in Eternity will you be?! THAT is the question that only YOU can answer! Be sure that one day, YOU will stand before Jesus Christ and it will be the Beama Seat because your saved to Jesus Christ…or the Great White Throne of Jesus Christ…because you never bothered to ask for Jesus Christ into your Life.

Jesus Christ…will KNOW you…or HE won’t! YOUR choice! GOD said that!!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I use the King James version of the Bible and all emphasis is mine.
