Pondering A Few Things Here

Pondering A Few Things Here
By Don Twobears

Been doing a little thinking and pondering here lately. When I first began writing for the Lord, we (as in the Writers) were writing mostly about the “Imminent Rapture”. A lot of things were taking place back then and so we were busy reading Scripture, working with Strong’s Concordance and discussing all that we had been researching. As of the past year or so, it would appear that a lot of that has been waning…would you agree?!

I believe we still have the same expectations, we stand at the wall and watch the world go to peaces, if you will. Then again, we already know that this would take place as well, the Word of God tells us so. Every so often, there will be an article on the Rapture and yet it seems to be “Old News” for many, I have heard them talking.

For me, this is not what I feel is correct, the Rapture is still Imminent and I still stand at that wall, waiting for my Lord and Savior to come for us. In my heart, I hear HIM calling the Lost. The next thought I have, is about the “Seeds” the Sower, the good ground, the Hard Ground, all the weeds and the birds of the air Mark 4:1-9. The seed is good and ready to go into the ground and produce, yet some falls on the Road and trampled down. Others fall among the weeds, starts to grow and is then chocked out. Birds of the air fly down and eat some of the seed, so there may be just some of the seeds that actually reach the good ground. Such is the way things are with many people.

One hears the Word of God and reacts, believing and about accepting Jesus Christ, yet they are trampled, distracted and give up. Another falls into the weeds, the Possibility of Fun in Sin lures him away. I know you understand what I am saying here. And every time I think on that Passage of Scripture, that small word FEW pops out again and I begin to understand that, it occurs far too often. Only the FEW find that path to the narrow gate. I then begin to wonder, how many fell into the same traps, when we were all writing about the Rapture being so soon. And of course, they love to say, “Nothing happened, ya’ll don’t know what your talking about!”

I have been asked, if I still believe the Rapture is Imminent. My Reply is YES…and it is still going to be soon. Some one is always there, to say, “Well it hasn’t happened in the past 2000 years. Chances are we still have 20-30 years left!” At those times, I would love to ask them, what if it takes place tomorrow? I know I will receive anger, instead of Joy and Happiness. Yet…it is still important, it is still coming and in our Lifetime.

Those of us that are Born-Again, already know the Lord is coming and in HIS good time. Are we telling the Lost what they NEED to hear? Or are we just getting them to church and then walking away? Strange thought…right? We already know, from everything we see and hear going on in this world, that Satan and his ilk are definitely working over-time! I can’t help but wonder, if we are actually getting through to them, do they understand what we are telling them, are we continuing to work with them? I am not pointing any fingers, just thinking and asking questions.

Please don’t get angry with me, but sometimes I feel like, I am talking to the saved only and the lost are busy walking away, just as the Word of God says. Should I have stated things differently, should I have spent more time on a particular subject? Could they be getting lost in all the verbiage, does this make any sense to you? And yes, I know the real work is in the Hands of the Holy Spirit. I feel that same urgency, that alarm going off in my head and Heart. Then I get other subjects going through my head, Apologetics or Eschatology? Praying again for guidance. The Gospel of Jesus Christ, as is read in the Holy Word of God.

My Heart and my feelings keep telling me to Write about “Our Sin.” Salvation through the Blood of Jesus Christ, from HIS Cross on Calvary. I keep getting the feeling that, writing about the damage Sin causes in our lives, Where one is headed without Jesus Christ, is more important…am I correct? In other words, do you as a reader agree?

I know it is important to Up-hold the Saved and still bring information to the Lost, with the expectation they will Receive Jesus Christ. It is most difficult to decide, thus my choice is to leave it in the Lords Hands, as to what I write.

Without a doubt, Sin has caused so many to be lost. Disease and bad choices are more rampant now days, than they used to be. And I see more articles concerning “Healing today, as compared to way back then.” People want to know, does the Lord God still Heal people? Why are so many dying of cancer and other such diseases, across the planet. The single most important thing to know, is that Our Sin is a destroyer of us and the only route of recovery…is Jesus Christ!

To be brutally honest…for me…I would like to go in the Rapture, but then I am still going to Heaven if I die of something, or that big 18 wheeler spreads me out for a mile. As a Born-Again Believer, I am truly Saved to Jesus Christ…I have no worries or concerns. Do the lost want to know this and then be able to look at their own situation?! And yet, the Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ, is equally needful to know. They need to understand, in the Rapture, or an accident, to get to Heaven will require them to belong to Jesus Christ!

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

These passages of Scripture are burned into my mind and my Heart! I stand on them, because my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ loves me and wants to bring me home to Heaven with HIM.

Our existence here on earth is temporary…at best. Does it truly matter whether one dies of a disease or goes to Heaven in the Rapture? I believe that, we run the gambit of putting too much emphasis in just one area, when the entire Bible is what is important, because Bible is about Jesus Christ! The Center-Point of the Bible is about Accepting the Salvation found only in Jesus Christ! How we die or are Raptured is of little importance, when we weight it against Salvation. Am I correct ya’ll?! Let me know, I am all ears! This is not Just about my Druthers…right?!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

All Passages of Scripture come from the King James version of the Bible.

All Emphasis is mine.
