I Choose the Lord!

Happy Anniversary to Monika and I!

I can not begin to fathom, how wonderful it has been to be Married to Monika for 42 years, as of this August 16th. Has it been blissful…not always. Have we been happy…not always. Yet for the previous 42 years, we have been married…it has been exciting…never a dull moment…and still as yet…Blessed of the Lord! That end of the sentenced is the most important! It is the Lord God that has brought all of this about…as a matter of fact…everything in this life…is because of the Lord God!

Far too many people, THINK they are in control of everything in their lives. Yet…how many are able to understand, that the Lord God is the one that gives them the next breath of air, or the very next heart-beat?! To be honest here, those are two biggies for each and every person, right?! So if you receive those two time and time again…are you truly in charge of anything? Absolutely NOT! The Lord God is! Yet for this article, we are talking about Marriage.

Mark 10:5-9 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

There are many things to notice in the passage of Scripture above. To begin with “Jesus Said!” That is the first thing to notice and the most Important. The next is that God made them “Male and Female.” Please notice that anything other than what “Jesus” said is Sin! And then we have “Cleave to his wife.” That means to stick with your Wife, to Honor her, to listen to her…and it is as important as anything with you! Now we have “and the Twain shall be be one flesh!” Gods Mark of Marriage for the two of you. Finally, “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Man is considered to be anyone! That includes you Husband! Wife! Absolutely anyone! In other words, this is a relationship for Eternity…as is Blessed of the Lord God! It is also a representation of Jesus Christ and the Church! Think on this for a moment!

I know, there will always be someone that points out, “Until the man dies…then the woman is free from the obligation of the Marriage vows.” So on that note, do you really want to think of the marriage in such a small way, who dies and who is now free? Or could you see the “Blessing” afforded in becoming one Flesh, one Family?! Your Best Friend, your best Bud, someone that will Love you for forever?! I like that one better…just saying ya’ll…!

There is NO such a thing as a “Marriage” because you “Had” to, a marriage of convenience or anything else one is able to think of. I must surmise, that you thought highly enough of her at one point in time, that is if you catch my drift. I must state, everything is a Choice and the Holy Word of God tells us to consider the Lord and HIS Word…first! That is, if you want to make the best choice!

I must tell you, when I first laid my eyes on Monika…I was amazed…dumb-founded! She was absolutely, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen! Now thinking back about the next breath of air or the next Heart beat…do you really think…Monika was that Beautiful to me…by accident?! That was the Lord! Did I know this, at that moment? “NOPPERS!” I was too busy being mesmerized by her! The twinkle in her eye, came from the Lord…and I was taken to “a whole ‘nother world!” One year later we were “Officially Married”…according to what the Government says, but more importantly by what the Lord says! And so now the word “Cleave” has a whole new meaning for me. I Love Monika more today, than I could ever have imagined, 42 years ago! That…my Friends…is a Blessing!

Now some are saying “Oh how sweet!” Well, it has nothing to do with that. We have had our arguments, our differences of opinion, usually when we were being selfish and ignorant of the needs of the other. Still as yet, the Lord stood firm for us and we were able to work through these differences. I listen to what Monika has to say and I am better off for that as well. She’s smart and Intelligent, considerate and Loving and most of the time…she absolutely right! There is one other thing to note;

Ephesians 5:28-29 “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church.”

Wow! To love your wife as much as you Love yourself! That is going to be most difficult for the Narcissist…right?! I Love Monika more than I Love myself! If need be, I would give up my Life for Her to prosper! And that is what the Holy Word of God tells us to be like, yet this comes from the Lords Blessing of our Marriage…How HE wants things to be in our lives.

Here’s the crux of the matter, if you will. Your Marriage will prove whether you follow the Lord or not. That is evidenced in your life, in the other areas as well. How will your marriage prosper, if you choose to neglect the Lord God? By the same token, how will your Life prosper…if you neglect the Lord?! So now the question is, “Do you still think you are in charge of anything?” Or are the actions of those without the Lord worthy of your consideration. We know we mess everything up? Right?!

We did not create this life, this world or anything in it and if we are not able to choose our next breath of air or our next Heart-beat…how are we in charge?! Thinking on this, how foolish are we as humans? It comes back to “Our Choices”, that is all this life is about…”Choices!” Oddly enough…our choices or the lack there of…decide our place in Eternity!

Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

First off, I want to go to Heaven and be with the Lord! I want to have a good and binding Marriage with Monika! I want a good Family and Good children and Grand-Children! I want to be Happy and content, a loving Family! That comes from the Lord God, just as your next Breath of air does. It is a choice that I make and it always begins and ends, with the Lord!

I Praise and thank the Lord for all that is in my Life! HE has done all of it, despite my ignorance for so many years! That my Friends…is REAL LOVE!

John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
