It ain’t no secret, What God can do!

In this article, I am going to get a little hard-nosed. The Reason for this, is because we have choices to make, we see hardship and discomfort, but does that mean we are to succumb to it?! Absolutely Not! And also, we the Born-Again Christian, can rely on the Holy Spirit to get us through the tough times!

Here’s a little story about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in a boat and a storm arises;Mark 4:36-41 “And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Now if one is to look at this and gain any insight, it should be that the sailors were exceedingly afraid and in fear for their lives. Yet not a single one of them realized that the Lord God, the Creator of the Universe, was asleep below. In this perspective, why should they have been afraid for their lives?! Did they consider, that it is the Lord God that calls you home, whether it be in a storm or otherwise? Did they consider, that the waters of the waves or the intense wind, would never touch the Lord God? Whom exactly were they placing thier FAITH in, the Storm or the Lord God? Here’s another story;

My Wife and I, invited another couple to go with us on a Carribean Cruise, they are our best Friends. We will call them Gab and Sandra, to keep from offending anyone here. When we left the port, we were in high hopes of a beautiful and restful cruise, one very much needed, because of our jobs. It was in mid-September 2004 that we began our Cruise. Halfway into the cruise we encountered Hurricaine Ivan, a Category 5 hurricaine in the Gulf waters.

At the time, the ship (Norwegian Sea) was rocking and rolling heavily, rain was pelting the windows ferociously and the gale-force winds could be heard screaming outside. And I mean the rolling was up to 30-45 degrees at times, thus, many or should I say…most people were in their cabins, sick as dogs. Having spent almost 50 years in the Medical Field, there are medications one can take to counter the motion sickness. Yet the biggest contributor to this medical melady, is to “Succumb or accept the Motion Sickness!” There will be some that would want to disagree with me and that’s alright, it matters little. The point is, one does NOT have to be sick if one does not wish to be, it would appear it is easier for most to go along with it and be sick. In the end, these same people will complain and consider bad-mouthing the Cruiseline for something they have no control over.

I was so proud to watch my Wife take the rocking and rolling with such a great sense of adventure, poise and grace. We like a few of the others, were laughing as we tried to manuver the Rocking of the Ship. My Wife had to go to the bathroom, so I sat down on a stool on the Starboard side of the Casino and waited for her. An Elderly Couple, easily in their 80’s or older, were walking towards me, they were holding hands and doing their best to walk. As the Ship would roll one way they would hold each other up and gently trundle in that direction. Still holding hands they would trudge back to the aisle, Laughing almost uncontrolably. I was very impressed by these two and it was such a comical situation to watch. Once they got close to me, for whatever reason they let go of each others hand and the ship rolled, the Wife trundled into the Slot-Machines. The Husband was shocked and slide into the machines as well, to retrieve his Wife. The Man and Woman came shakily walking back to the aisle, laughing even harder and obviously having the time of their lives!

I do not know who this couple were, but I wanted to shake their hands so bad. If you are reading this article, please leave me an Email. My point now is this, Being a Born-Again Believer and following Jesus Christ, does HIS Holy Word tell us, that HE is with us always?! You know it does! Therefore, why should any of us be afraid or dismayed, or even sick, when all one must do, is “Pull on your Big-girl pants and move on!” Get out there and enjoy whatever the Lord brings to you, even the difficult stuff! The Lord never told us we would live without our own ups and downs, just that no matter what, HE would be with us always. Understanding this what is there to fear?!

“Oh mercy me…we are going to die?!” Is that all you can think of?! If you follow the Lord Jesus Christ, what does death matter, other than you will be with the Lord in Heaven! How is this a bad thing?! The only ones that fear death are those that do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then again, they will fear anything!

Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

Words to live by ya’ll…! If indeed you Love and follow the Lord, even the “Bad Times” are nothing to worry yourself over! There in, is NO Fear! So in light of this, what is there left to do, than to take the experience as an adventure and have a Blast! This is what I saw in that Elderly Couple and I was amazed to say the least. My Wife and I renewed our situation and we dined, and ran about the ship as if we owned it! There was nothing else to do and I sure did not want to waste the trip, in our cabin being sick. Obviously, for us and the Elderly Couple and a few others, we had made a choice in a situation we could not control (Then again, we never have any control, of anything!) and we have such great memories. I sort of wish I had the presence of thought to take pictures at that time, oh well!

My Friends, I simply can’t leave this article as it is, I must explain this further. We already know, that from birth until death, we are going to have days of wonder and adventure and then there will be days, of undenighing pain and suffering. The difference is…how we choose to deal with it! Yes, you read that right…how you “Choose” to deal with it. Nothing will ever change in either direction, by you simply “Wishing” for it to change. You already know, you must make an effort to change your situation!

Has it ever occurred to you, when you first wake up, to kneel and Pray?! First, give Thanks for everything you already have, show the Lord God some Respect and Thankfulness! Ask the Lord to give you a heart of joy, I didn’t say Happiness, I said Joy! And then give the Lord your Love! Ask HIM to show you how to live, your entire future (Which begins with today!) are already in HIS capable hands. If that is indeed the absolute truth for you, what do you have to worry about, what will complaining afford you, how will excuses save you?! YOU are in the Hands of the LORD GOD! The Creator of the entire Universe will direct you and keep you, because HE promised to do so. The Word of God says that HE knew everyone and everyday, long before HE created the Universe! What do we have to worry about….Nothing!

Ephesians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.”

Are you not able to understand what is written here?! “Chosen before the Foundation of the World!” My Brothers and Sisters, that…says it all! If you follow Jesus Christ, there is nothing in this world that can take place without the Lord God knowing about it! You are in the best hands possible, in all of time!

We need to remember these verses, because that means that Death…is nothing to worry about! Does this mean we will never see a day of hardship? NO! It means we are not alone in any of it, that is the best of it all! That means there is never a time for a “Pity-Party” with any of us, unless you do not belong to the Lord to begin with. A single moment in time, a single situation, a small period of time. As we know, there is one thing that never changes…Life MUST go on and it always does. That means that, no matter what is happening today, tomorrow is another day. When the Lord God is caring for you, nothing in this world can harm you in any way….that my Friends, is a Promise! You are indeed Loved…you are indeed cared for…and it will remain that way for all of Eternity!

Psalm 121:1-7 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.”

If the Holy Word of God says it, you can beleive it!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
