Where is He?

Where is He?
By Dennis Huebshman

“Above all, understand this, in the last days, blatant scoffers will come, being propelled by their own evil urges, (4) and saying, “Where is His promised return?”. For ever sense our ancestors died, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.” (2 Peter 3:3-4 – emphasis mine)

Going on to 2 Peter 3:8-9, “Now dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice; that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord, and a thousand years like a single day. (9) The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you because He does not wish for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.”

The first set of verses above say, “all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation”; but have they? Looking at Daniel 12:4, “But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about, and knowledge will increase.”

Just going back to around 1960, how many changes have taken place on this earth? How many just in the past 10 years? It would be safe to say that if someone from 1960 could be brought forward to today, they would be astounded at things we take for granted. Digital watches, cell phones and personal computers, just to name a few, were not around back then. In just the past 5 years, changes have been happening even more rapidly each day. Sadly, not all are for the good of mankind.

A lot of changes started at the end of World War II, but especially since May 14, 1948. Ezekiel 36:24 is a prophecy that is about 2500 years old, but was fulfilled on that day. “I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the countries, then I will bring you to your land”. Ezekiel 37:1-14 tells of the valley of dried bones that the Lord showed Ezekiel in a vision, where new life was put into the bones once again. Verses 16-19 says Ezekiel was to take two branches and to write “Judah” on one, and “Ephraim” on the other, and to join them together to signify all the tribes coming together as one nation.

Much of this has been completed but a portion of the prophecy goes forward to the end of the Tribulation and into the Millennium. Ezekiel 37:22, “I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one King (Jesus) will rule over them all. They will never again be two nations, and never again be divided into two kingdoms.” That time is rapidly approaching, even if the world doesn’t think so.

How has the land changed? Going back to 1867, Samuel Clements (Mark Twain) visited the Holy Land, and all he could see was how barren it was. He talked about there not being a solitary village for thirty square miles, but just a few Bedouin tents. Nowhere did he find anything that resembled fertile soil. He covered much of the land Israel owns now.

Moving forward to today, would you say, “all things have continued”? There is not only fertile soil, but Israel actually exports produce and wine and other commodities to places around the world. Since their regathering process began in 1948, it has been evident the Father is keeping His promise to keep them in their own land. They have been attacked by various armies right from the very beginning, but have not been defeated in war. Nothing short of a miracle could have saved this “sliver” of a land among so many larger ones that want to totally destroy her. The 1967 6-day war was beyond amazing. Israel’s knowledge about agriculture and the medical sciences have definitely increased in a super-natural way. They even provide services to people who consider Israel an enemy.

There will be another major attack against Israel by a coalition made up of Russia, Turkey, Iran and several other smaller countries. (Ezekiel 38-39) To say nothing has changed, this coalition was formed just over the past couple years, and had never existed before. All events today are exactly as prophecy tells us it would be near the end time.

Looking at the passage of time form Ezekiel to today, and considering 2 Peter 3:8, only about 2 ½ days have passed for the Father. He’s not being slow about anything; but as it says in verse 9, He’s being patient to give all of us an opportunity to be saved.

People’s attitudes toward the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, are getting more and more negative. In many places, it’s illegal to pray “In Jesus Name”, but to recite the Quran is perfectly ok. Just about anything that pertains to Christianity is being challenged, especially in several liberal states, but it’s moving all over our country. Many people are under the influence of satan and his demons because they choose to be. Jesus, Paul and others told what the atmosphere would be like in these last days, and they’re all right on the mark. The world attitude is becoming, “What’s in it for me?”, and the Father is allowing this to happen, for now. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:18, “The word of the cross if foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.” It’s as if the delusion (2 Thessalonians 2:11) is in place.

Please don’t misunderstand, the offer for us to accept Jesus as our Savior and have eternal life with Him is the same as it has been right from Calvary to now. The Father could have initiated the Rapture, and started His Wrath at any time, but He’s waiting to give us every opportunity available. One moment of one day, this will change.

As with Noah and the flood, God gave all the people of that era about one hundred years to heed the warnings. As with the attitude among many today, the people just ignored them and mocked Noah. The flood took place, just as the Father warned. Same situation with Sodom and Gomorrah. If there had been only ten righteous souls, those cities would have been spared. How many areas of the world, and even in our own country does this sad statistic apply?

Matthew 7:13-14 is becoming more defined each day, and the two ways – the broad path with many on it leading to destruction; the narrow path with few on it leading to eternal life – are very obvious. True believers all over the world are being pushed aside with all the evil agendas springing up.

False prophets and antichrists have been around from even before Calvary, but of late, they are increasing in numbers rapidly, and are not even trying to hide it. Some popular pastors that used to follow scripture faithfully have fallen for the lure of the world – money and pride. They’re changing their messages to follow satan’s lies, “Did God really say”, “There’s no rush to accept Jesus” and of course, “There’s many ways to Heaven”. They should definitely know God never changes His mind, and His word is the same today as it has always been. Prior to Calvary, it was to accept God and reject idols; post Calvary, it’s to accept the gift of Salvation, or reject Jesus and spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.

Heaven with Jesus is eternal – never ending. Hell is also eternal and never ending. They are both real places, or the Father would not have given all the messages about eternal Salvation or eternal damnation in His love letter (Bible) to us.

In John 10, Jesus tells all the reasons He came here so that we would be with Him. All who truly accept the “Shepherd” will be a part of His “flock”. There is no other way to the Father as given in John 3:18, John 14:6, 1 John 2:23, 1 John 4:15, 1 John 5:12 and many others. The short five chapters of 1 John describes the antichrists and false prophets that are among us even as they were about 2000 years ago. We are given the pathway to forgiveness – 1 John 1:8-10, and the “how to”) for living a Christian life.

Romans 10:9-13 shows that all who will call out to Jesus will be saved. We must be willing to accept that we are sinners, as everyone on earth is (Romans 3:23), and ask Jesus to forgive us. We must put our faith and trust in the account of His death, burial and resurrection is true, and through His voluntary act (John 10:18), we can receive the gift of pardon for all of our sins. Without Jesus, the only alternative is the White Throne Judgment followed by the Lake of Fire as given in Revelation 20:11-15.

Consider carefully your options. You can accept Jesus, and your eternity will be absolutely wonderful. You can accept this world and it’s offers, and your eternity will be absolutely miserable. There’s no other options. Choose wisely – Choose Jesus.

Where is He? Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him/her and he/she with me.” Regardless what others say – He is approaching your door with your personal invitation. The knob is on your side, and you control whether He comes in to you, or you leave Him outside.

Maranatha! (Come Lord Jesus)
